As a Firearms and Safety Instructor, self-defense is important to me. Less than Lethal devices should be part of your self-defense plan. There are times when deadly force is not warranted but a first fight is not in your favor. Pepper spray is a great tool to meet that need. This device is not for carring around with you, it is designed for a home defense. Sabre Red is what a large number of police carry. If it is good enough for them, it is good enough for you. Things that I like: 1) The body involuntarily acts to pepper spray. This means even if the person is high on drugs, their body will react. 2) This product works at a distance (about 20'). In other words I don't have to be within arms reach of them. 3) It is a larger size so it will give you a lot of shots so if you have several attackers in your home, it should last. 4) It comes with a holder that you can mount to the wall to make it easy to get to. You need to be mindful that kids can gain access to this. To help prevent honest kids for messing with it, it has two features that help prevent curious minds. There is a safety pin that is zip tied into place. The zip tie can be easily broken when you need it. The other is a plastic yellow "button" that sits in front of the thumb trigger. When activated for the first time, that button will break off. This is a gel product as compared to a Fog or stream. There is splatter, but it should be easier to clean up in the home if something were to happen. Cleaning this carpets/drapes etc will be a challenge, but that is a small price to pay. I highly recommend this product. Always get training for any of these devices and consider personal protection insurance as well. Stay safe!

I LOVE IT! Haven't had a chance to use it but wow this thing is big and you feel safe with it. I wish I could take it with me while I walk my dog at night. It needs a side holster like dog the bounty hunter has. I have great confidence in this red pepper gel gun. Lets just call it a gun. I don't want to own a gun, so this was a good choice. I have a Brooklyn cold steel bat and a collapsible baton as well. If I ever do use this, I plan on using the bat or baton on them as well. I wont be running away after spraying like they recommend. I will be drenching the person with this stuff. My first experience with mace gel was in 2013 when I was using it on my pit bull who I took in as a stray and who was mauling my other dog months later after taking him in (that's why I walk him at night because he is serving a life sentence in a separate area away from the others). I had a can of mace I bought at a garage sale and I ended up getting some on my hand and WOW, that stuff stung me all day into the night. on my hand?? I thought it only affects the eyes?? if it can do that much to your skin, I can only imagine what it does to the face and eyes. After that incident I seriously do not believe anyone could be immune to this stuff. And if they are, I plan on using this stuff on their private areas and we will see if Mr. Johnson is immune to pepper gel. Just pull their pants down and spray. They wear their pants down and baggy anyway right?? so it shouldn't be hard to do it. If you look at the youtube videos of people spraying themselves in the face they are always on their knees begging for water. Even the most strong men with muscles. I saw a video of them spraying a military guy and I swear to god that guy didn't get enough spray on his face and you can tell by the video and they made it look like he was able to take it and do his drills. RIGHT I believe it suuure. I seriously doubt us regular people would encounter robbers or trouble makers who are immune to this stuff. Or military special force men like steven segal characters who probably use this stuff as a topping on their tacos. But like I said earlier, I have a baton and a Brooklyn cold steel bat I bought on amazon as well to use with this stuff as a secondary weapon after spraying them. I cant shoot anyone nor would I think I could live with knowing I took another life with a gun, so this pepper gel gun makes me feel even safer at home. I think I will buy another one to keep in another area. I will look for a side holster for this gun, but so far haven't had any luck. I cant believe this gun isn't allowed in some states. They allow guns, but not this?? doesn't make sense.

This stuff works and it is extremely forceful when it comes out and very strong you will cry like a baby even if you don't get sprayed by it. This is my second bottle luv it!

Awesome container that has overcome numerous home intruders! Okay, not really, but the container is a nice size to hold and pull the trigger and also the installation piece for the wall is very convenient.

This thing is great! If you need a good deterrent look no further. I've had multiple road rage drivers stop and leave when they are confronted with this product. Recently, I had someome try to get violent in a road rage incident and had to use this as a last resort. It INSTANTLY stopped the agressor and gave me time to leave and deescalate the situation. I just ordered my second can, as someone was unlucky enough to experience the first one and I will now be carrying this in all my vehicles. Just a side note, DO NOT get in the spray path or blow back, this stuff is super potent and WILL burn your skin and eyes. Also, if you live in a warm climate and keep this in your vehicle, there will definitely be a peppery smell as it heats up. This is overall a very well built product. It sat in multiple vehicles for a year and a half, in the Arizona heat, and performed flawlessly when needed.

The pepper gel is a nice large size container, suitable for home defense. Hide one in each location that you spend the most time in, e.g. bedroom and main living areas. They come with a wall mount bracket so you can mount it in plain sight, and possibly up higher where little hands can't reach. They have a safety pin that you have to remove in order to use; this is essential so you don't accidentally have a bad day. The stickers on mine indicated they were good for just under three years from date of receipt. Another great thing about the size is that it's natural to hold with two hands so aiming is more controllable. For the cost, a solid choice all around.

I've used this for traveling and also whenever out walking and for my home.
