I tend to always buy non Elgato products first and then upgrade into them. and this like every other product I have done that with is an obvious quality upgrade! With better quality and materials its obvious why I would want it. But this does have some shortcomings specifically that it does not come with mounting hardware and that it is short requiring you to purchase other products to get the same use you would get from a cheaper model. Pros: Very sturdy! (its metal) Small adjustments are possible where with the budget models you could only do large. The rang of motion and ease of adjustments has blown my mind. they hold my gopro hero 10, and Sony 6300 perfectly. They also hold Elgato key light air well. (ill be buying a few more to add this and open up space on my desk) You are able to buy more arms that fit with this allowing for more customization. (this is also a downside as its needed) Cons: It did not come with mounting hardware. (this seams silly to me as it a quality product.) The length of the arms included with the basic package is less then i would expect. Especially after getting much more from cheaper products. (you can buy arms that attach and allow better customization though.) Overall this a product I am very happy with. But for me at least you need to purchase more products to make it the upgrade it truly is. So if you are trying to be budget friendly i would recommend going cheaper but if you are looking for a great product that will last i recommend this plus an elgato flex arm.

I love this thing. I got two and the magic arm extension. I love elgato streamdecks and mounts.

Solid mount. Little pricey, but don't regret the investment.

It's solid and it does work, but this is probably the first product I bought that required screws and didn't come with any. For the price point you would expect them to be included. I hate that I had to make a special trip to the hardware store just to get the screws I needed.

Using this to support a Sony A7r iii with a 16-35mm zoom lens which is pretty heavy and it handles this load easily. The main telescoping shafts are heavy metal and interlock very well. The twist locks are well built and hold. Comes with some cable guides that clip onto the shaft and do a good job of securing wires. Only complaint is that the minimum height supported is a little too high. Would like to see a version that is 6” shorter at it’s lowest setting.

You're definitely paying the Elgato tax for what essentially is a stick with a desk clamp. However, it's well built, and I have 3 of them so far. Two are for lights, and one for my webcam. All of them are solid and do a great job of staying in place. It does what it says in the description and it does it well.

Van dit merk en dit bedrag mag je iets goeds verwachten, maar ik kan, nu een jaar in gebruik, niet anders zeggen dan dat dit troep is. Verbazingwekkend hoe ze het voor elkaar gekregen hebben om dit nog zo slecht te fabriceren. Spijt als haren op m'n hoofd dat ik dit ooit heb aangeschaft. 1) Stelrubbers geven extreem af Ik heb bij een ander product nog nooit zoiets meegemaakt; Iedere keer als je de stand verstelt zijn je hele handen zwart van de troep, omdat die rubber knoppen afgeven. Zelfs nog na een jaar gebruik. Ik heb eerder de stand omgeruild met amazon voor een nieuw exemplaar vanwege dit euvel, maar ook het vervangende artikel heeft dit probleem. Alleen geeft deze vervanging pas af na maanden en nu, na een jaar, nog steeds en is het voor mij vermoedelijk te laat om nog geld terug te krijgen vanwege een ondeugdelijk product. 2) Afstellen is een ramp Gewoon losdraaien van een deel om deze af te stellen is er niet bij. De knop komt voortdurend vast te zitten. Iemand schreef dat dit de bedoeling zou zijn als veiligheidsbevestiging, maar dat vind ik onzin. Het is onwerkbaar in de praktijk en je begint regelmatig zelfs te twijfelen of je wel de goede kant op draait, omdat losdraaien ineens vastdraait, maar vastdraaien ook vastdraait. Waardeloos. Overigens ter info; ik heb er ook de arm bij en dat is ook troep, dus vergeet die ook maar. Zelfs een lichte smartphone kan dat ding nog niet eens houden, al draai je alle vleugelmoeren nog zo stevig aan. Het geheel is ook niet stabiel te krijgen en wiebelt met alles mee. Troep.
