Sharpening for the gods. Scandi heaven
I bought this to sharpen my razor. It worked better than I could have hoped. The perfectly flat glass underneath will never not be perfectly flat, so you can sharpen knowing that the only problem is you. It's not a dip in your stone.I get such great results for my Scandi grinds.Durability is ok with water, but with wd40 the sharpening results are unparalleled, and the papers deteriorate kinda quickly. At 16$ a pack they are an affordable way to get into knife precision sharpening. I use them more than my $1000+ dollars of whetstones. They make sharpening easier.

Used this on my KME Sharpener and I am loving it!
I bought the lapping add on for the KME which comes with 6 glass plates and 6 different diamond lapping films 9,6,3,1, .05, and .01 (6 each) and it produces an insanely sharp edge with a mirror finish on the blade. The replacement film is a bit pricey which is why I tried the 3M. For less than half the price of what I was using, I get more grit sizes and I can get about 8 films out of each sheet. The results are even better!! I will be a repeat buyer for sure.

The better sandpaper!
Like many woodworkers, I've spent a lot of time and effort in finding the most convenient, but effective, method to sharpen our chisels and plane irons. I could start a second hand store with all the products I've tried but don't use due to one issue or another.Lately I've used wet/dry sandpaper on marble slab with excellent success. My tools come out extremely sharp and the process to touch them up is reasonable. The only real issue is the expense of changing the paper so often. In steps the Taylor Tools answer to the scary sharp method using 3M lapping film. The advantage to sandpaper is two fold. First, the film provides longevity that paper backed products can only dream of ... secondly, the finer films take my tools to a whole new level of sharp. What a pleasure it is to use my tools again.I haven't counted just how many chisels and irons I've sharpened with any given set, but I can tell you that for me it's been significant. I have five stages mounted to a 12x24" marble plate to create and maintain my micro bevels. It takes a mere couple of minutes to touch tools back up once you have a good primary bevel established. This is my current "soup du jour" of sharpening and I'm going to be quite satisfied with it for a long time to come.

For the work sharp percision adjust
I cut these to size to fit on the ceramic portion of the worksharp percision adjust. produces a fine mirror like finish after progressing through the grit levels. Well worth the cost for adding to the fixed angle system, and they stick well, and are easy to remove, and usually last a good 2 to three sharpening before they need to be tossed, and recut..worth it.

Scary sharp knives with a mirror finish.
I bought these sheets after watching a YouTube video of someone cutting them to size and sticking them to the ceramic hone on a Worksharp Precision adjust knife sharpener. I cut them into sight oversized strips and they adhere perfectly to the ceramic. Knives come out shaving sharp with a mirror finish. You can get multiple uses out of the strips if you stick them to a piece of wax paper to prevent the adhesive from drying out. I can sharpen about 4 pocket knives 3-4” blades using the strips before it’s time to change strips. I got about 14 strips out of each sheet of lapping film. If you do bigger knives they obviously will wear out more quickly. Pull the paper with the cutting edge towards the apex, don’t push the paper into the cutting edge or you will slice it. I also buff side to side and it doesn’t cut the paper, and finish with 10 strops along the knife blade from hilt to tip on each side and finish with 50 strips each side on the 60,000 grit white film. This stuff is awesome and I will be purchasing more when I need to.

Mostly works well
This system works pretty well for what it is. Installation can be tricky at first, it’s important to get all of the water out from under the film when setting it onto the float glass. One issue that I seem to run across is that I will dig the iron or chisel into the glass and end up tearing the film. Which, if you’re careful is very avoidable.Overall, it’s a great product for the price point. I would give it 5 stars but I received two of the blue sheets (300 grit) sheets instead of a blue and light blue (1800)

Excellent Polishing
Nice distribution of grits allowing easy restoration of my small project. I took a 45 yo hunter style single blade pocket knife and used the product to polish the bolsters and carbon steel knife to near new condition. My grandson will love to have this for his birthday so he has “A knife just like Grandpa’s “.
