I bought my cats other, much more expensive scratching pads, which they liked well enough. But eventually they wear out and need to be replaced. At over $100 a piece I didn't want the same ones, but the cheap ones always broke down quickly, and they were too small to support the weight of my chunky girl, who loves to lay on them.Then I found this. It's big enough for her to lie on, and very sturdy, too. The five layers of cardboard make it downright perfect. When one is worn out, I can just flip it over. When both sides are done, I just move it to the bottom and it supports the others. My fat cat loves it (her smaller sister does as well, but she gets chased off when she tries to use it), and sleeps on it all the time. She also loves to just sit there and watch her people. This is the best money I've ever spent on my cats. It's certainly cheaper than new slipcovers! The only thing I'd recommend more is pet insurance- which I sadly didn't buy.

Honestly, I don't own a cat. But a neighborhood cat who is not well cared for has been coming over for food and shelter this winter. I am a dog owner....so I really don't know a lot about cat care, but after the cat decided to stretch and sink his claws into the leather-like material on my recliner, I knew I had to find a solution. After reading such great reviews, I decided on this product, but was concerned that the cat stood up to scratch and may not like the standing position. I set this up in seconds, and the next time my furry friend visited and came inside, he ran immediately to this box, and started scratching away! Literally 2.2 seconds was all it took! Now he comes and snuggles in his box or stands in it and scratches away. PERFECTION!

My cats love these scratchers. It keeps a lot of the cardboard pieces that are made when the cat scratchers it inside the box. My big boy is 14.5 lbs, but can still use it. I ended up with two because they fight over it. It's helped. Just flip it over once it's been pretty used up. They last awhile.

I cut the top of the box it came in and made 2 scratching boxes for them to sit in! My cats love it! I have 2 pads in each and one off to the side. They love sitting in the boxes. Size and price were just right

Great product, cat loves it, but they changed the dimensions and removed 2/3" of the length!Now, the 5 pc inserts that it comes with don't snugly fit all of the existing boxes from previous purchases..Shrinkflation has struck one of the highest margin physical products I could think of: a box full of cardboard.

Keeps cardboard debris in box, not all over floors. Box is just the right size for cats to like to sit in,scratching pad and hide hole.

I buy these every year! My cat loves them. She also loves the sturdy cardboard box they come in, because it's the perfect size for her to roll around in and get belly rubs.

Fantastic product, lasts a long time with all the double-sided inserts. My only complaint is that it is overpackaged—each box comes in a cardboard box with wrapping underneath. Only one is necessary.
