Riedel Vitis Cabernet Glass, Set of 2

The Vitus champagne glasses are so lovely to drink out of; vertical tasting with other glasses (including the vinum champagne flutes) show how fantastically these improve the flavour and overall drinking experience when drinking sparkling wines.

Attractive shape that is also functional for our martinis. The more traditional "V" shaped glasses let the liquid slosh out if your moving around with them. These look great and don't let things spill. We unfortunately broke one of our original set of two, but I had no hesitation buying another pair to backfill. These are an elegant glass for guests.

Our family rates Amazon 5/5 except for this one order. We ordered 8 sets of Riedel Vitis Champagne Glass, Set of 2 per box. These were sent from a secondary supplier, Sold by: Westview Traders Inc. When we opened the box, only 1 set was the Vitis line (retails for about $80 for 2) and the other 7 sets were of the Discount mall line Riedel (retails for about 2 for $35). I could not reach the Westview Traders after being referred to them by Amazon help line. Westview operates without a phone it appears. I know that Amazon was not at fault--but Amazon is responsible for the quality of their secondary suppliers. One must be wary anymore when you order Riedel glasses since they now come in at least 4 levels (SOMMELIER, Vitis, Vinum, Cuvee, and Kmart). Watch out for substitutions! Wonderful glasses, but very fragile.

The most beautiful MARTINI glasses in the world!! -- Expensive? You bet & worth every penny! I shudder to think of how many they wreck in manufacture but my half-dozen are absolutely perfect glass. As my grandmother used to say "You'll always regret your economies and never regret your extravagances"!!

These are beautiful glasses, shaped nicely and an appropriate weight. However, they are extremely fragile. Would probably buy something else next time.

Pro:The narrowing of the top of the glass does help to retain the bubbles, improving the overall flavor. Con: The extra long stem forces you to find a special shelf to store this and makes it easier to accidentally break.Every time we use this I'm scared to death I'm going to snap off the extra long stem. Not worth the extra cost.

I use these for dinners that require some very nice glasses. Good wine needs a good glass like this. I don't think you can find some better Cabernet glasses out there. They are a little pricey, but you're getting a great product, from a top name in the wine glass industry. Everything about these glasses are great, except for the only downside with all premium+ glasses. They are fragile. Do be careful when using, and I suggest always hand washing them. These would be a great gift for birthday, or Christmas. Hope this helps!
