Poor product from a good company
The spindle lock does not work. Planning to return it. Unless Einhell has a solution. I hate returning stuff. Its time wasting and a total annoyance. I expect stuff to work as advertised. So much for German precision. I trusted their skilled craftmanship. Anyway i may just dump it in the trash. Unfortunately trusting Einhell i bought their drill and extra battery. Works ok. But the angle grinder to me was not built to specs. A shame to put me through this hassle. Now i am looking at other brands which is a big loss for me.

Very impressive little cordless grinder
I'd never heard of or used Einhell tools before this one so I was curious to try out this battery powered grinder. I've been using a corded grinder a lot for welding, auto body repair, and various other restoration and repair projects at my house. I will say that this tool isn't quite as powerful as a powerful 6-10 amp AC angle grinder but it is plenty powerful enough for most jobs I used it for. There is no speed adjustment which is fairly common for basic angle grinders. I do use a cutoff wheel and grinding discs, but my favorite tool is the flapper disc. This grinder is perfect for removing paint and rust with a flapper disc and the 18v battery is more than capable of keeping it going for a decent amount of time before needing to be recharged. My only criticism of this grinder, and maybe it's a feature, is that it takes a while to spin up to speed. While it does get up to 8500 RPM (apparently, I have no way to verify that), it starts off slow and spins up to the top speed. Once it gets going, it stays going fast until you release the power switch. The power switch is easy to access and locks on and just takes a tap to turn off, which is what I like to see. I have another grinder that is difficult to turn off and it's a safety hazard in my opinion. Some other nice features are the ability to move the spark shield to any position and the 3 handle positions. I usually have the handle on the right side with sparks shooting at me but the guard does a good job of keeping them from hitting me for the most part. My favorite innovation on this grinder is the tool to remove and tighten the discs. It's hidden in the handle, and it took me a while to figure that out. I was about to be upset at this grinder for not including the tightening tool but no, it's there with a red plastic end that locks in place so you won't lose it. I think Einhell did a great job creating an affordable, reliable, and easy to use 18V angle grinder that feels a lot nicer than the price would suggest. The cool thing about the Power X-Change series of tools is how many different tools you can use with one battery and charger. If I got a bare tool chainsaw I could move the battery over and start cutting logs with it. Other companies do the same thing but it's really nice to see more competition in the cordless tool space. Angle grinders are dangerous tools and I'd never want to use one that I didn't think was safe to use. This one not only feels safe, but it has better safety features than major name brands and I'll always use this battery grinder when I can over the AC angle grinders I have.

Good cutting tool, comparison to Axxio
The box says that this Einhell TE-AG 18/115 angle grinder weighs 2.6 pounds. The manual inside the box says it weighs 4 pounds. With the guard, additional handle, and a blade (but without a battery), it actually weighs 3.875 pounds. With the battery installed, this weighs 5.285 pounds. Weight without battery 2.6 pounds Weight with 3Ah battery 5.285 pounds 4.5" disk / wheel max 8500 RPM Battery not included. Uses an Einhell "Power X-Change" battery (works in a lot of Einhell devices) Battery Charger not included, but you can purchase an Einhell starter kit that includes a battery and charger. I do not think this is a brushless motor. It was not labelled anywhere I could find that indicated it was brushless. I guess that is why this is why this model is so much cheaper (but also heavier / larger) than the Einhell Axxio cordless angle grinder. The main handle has a circumference of 7 3/4" which is large for my hand. This is too large to hold comfortably for long periods of time. And I have large hands (wear men’s large gloves). The 90-degree handle can be screwed into either side for left / right handed use, and also in the center of the back which was a nice touch. Note: Please read the info on batteries in the owners guide. A lot of good info I never knew about batteries and battery life / charging (e.g. charging temps, frequency, etc. ). As expensive as lithium batteries are, it's good to maximize their life. Handy features: -Face Spanner (wrench) to change wheel stores in 90-degree handle. -Quick release guard can be easily rotated to maximize protection. -After 10 minutes of non-use the grinder switches to standby mode. This protects the battery. Note: You must press the battery capacity indicator once or the power switch twice to get the device out of standby mode. Compare to my cordless Einhell Axxio Angle grinder 8500 RPM 5" disk max 3.6875 lbs (no battery) (3 oz / .188 lbs lighter) main handle circumference 5 3/8" (fits my hand perfectly) brushless motor Other than the smaller disk (4.5"), larger circumference handle, slightly heavier weight, and motor with brushes this has all the other build quality and features of the Axxio. The battery balances out the weight (compared to my Corded Drill Master from Harbor Freight) so this is another nice characteristic of the Einhell. Like the other Einhell products I own this unit has metal in all the right places to ensure a long life, but has heavy duty plastic in the right places to minimize weight. It seems to be very well made. The rubber on the handles is very nice, and spongy enough to provide a good grip but firm enough to last a very long time. It's a cross between plastic and rubber. I've never encountered this kind of material on anything but Einhell tools. I like the freedom of the cordless tool. I'm giving this 4.5 stars because the handle has such a large circumference and rounding up to 5. For the price this is a good grinder. I should mention that my Harbor Freight Drill Master angle grinder's handle has a circumference of 7 7/8" (even larger). I guess it's hard to pack the gears and motor in any smaller space (which is why I love my Axxio – because it does). As the parent of kiddos with autism, there are causes near and dear to my heart.
