Don't hesitate to buy! Well worth it, even with the slight "flaws"!
Very difficult, but not so much to stress you out, I really enjoyed building it. I definitely agree, NEVER throw the extra bits away untill you have finished the whole thing, I was missing four pieces when I had put it all together ready to build, all of them turned up in the box with the extra bits. I love how the main Family and staff are stood outside the front door in presentation and everyone else is peering out of windows. The first 'in a window' person for me was Daisy, I was over the moon. I do however have a couple of complaints. fFirst there is no Lady Sybil, Lady Rose, Mathew, the children (who could be looking out of a window) or Mrs Levingson anywhere on the house. I know a couple of them are dead, but they are still apart of the family. Second, I don't really see the point in the 3 walls of photos, once the house is built you can't even see them. Other than that it absolutely amazing, this is the one I have been waiting for and I couldn't be happier with it. Most definitely worth the money.

Instructions are poor. Disappointed
My wife is an avid jigsaw lover since retiring. This she found a major challenge and that was mainly down to the fact the instructions are abysmal. Honestly, for such an expensive item you expect better. The company has coloured dr instructions on their website but they are also poorly designed. You can zoom in the web site but if you want to print them the resolution is extremely poor ... so poor you can not make out the pictures. I called the company to check in case it was a web error but it wasn't. It seems the company wants to just make, cut and throw the bits in the box and leave you on your own. Not buying anymore.

Missing pieces
This is the second one returned for missing pieces, all 890 pieces loose in the box none are in bags, it literally takes ages to sort out bits for the sides, base and roof then when you start the assembly parts are missing, in my opinion quality control is somewhat lacking here as this all turns to frustration, this would have been an excellent puzzle otherwise.

Tricky but good nonetheless.
Not an easy puzzle to do, but the resulting 'model' is very good. If you enjoy a challenge you'll enjoy assembling this puzzle.

Difficult but worth the struggle
Absolutely loved doing this, but it was hard! The instructions are minimal (hence 4 stars) and yes, we thought there were bits missing too, but there weren’t, and once I got my head around the fact that the pictures on the box really didn’t help, and it was meant to be hard, it helped. It also wasn’t that easy to put together, but well worth the effort.

Don't waste your time.
Having purchased one a few months back, spend many an hour constructing it only to find pieces missing so I decided to buy another one to get the missing pieces. The second set had some of the pieces I needed missing too! Plus, the pieces aren't sealed in a bag. They're loose in the box. That's how pieces go missing. Don't waste time money or time! If you get lucky amd have all the pieces, it'll be a great piece to look at and it is stunning when completed apparently.

Get the full color instructions from the website!!!
Full disclosure, I prefer the step by step build 3D models rather than 3D puzzles (this is the first one I've ever done) because I don't like the seam lines everywhere, but I had to take the plunge. Where else are you gonna find a scale model of Highclere Castle? And it's true to the real building, not to the show. For example the back of the castle with its red brick walls connects to the real service buildings and stables where the restaurant and the entrance to the Egypt exhibition are, but looks quite different the servants back door from Downton Abbey (which was shot in a studio and not at Highclere), in fact there isn't even a door here on the model. That's the one thing I could notice was quite different from the model to the show. It's not a difficult build if you ever done a big puzzle before. Sort the pieces by similar colors and try to match them up as best as you can, if you feel overwhelmed or can't find how they match put them away and move to another group (it's a foam puzzle, pieces will stay together by themselves, I just put the assembled pieces in the box and kept my categorized loose pieces in ziploc bags) eventually you'll see how they start matching up.I for example sorted them as roof, grassy base, walls with double windows/doors, walls with single windows, walls with niches, upper trim, and internal walls with pictures. It took me 2 afternoons to finish it (and it's my first 3d puzzle ever). If you feel stumped reference the color instructions on the Wrebbit site, the b&w instructions on the box are almost useless unless you're trying to know what the pieces you're missing are supposed to look like. All in all, good fun. I honestly wish it had taken me longer to build though, I had intended to build it over a few days while rewatching the series and only got to S2E2, so about 10 hours? The Notre Dame model from Cubicfun took me about a week even with step by step instructions, so this isn't really *that* difficult. The only time I got frustrated was doing the windows. You have no idea how many identical windows this thing has... oh and be careful, because the foam takes some finagling to snap together and the foam has some give, so it's actually possible to smush two similar pieces that are not a match and then you end up looking for a missing piece because you put something in the wrong place (happened to me a couple of times), double check that the image matches PERFECTLY, sometimes you'll see the lines are actually crooked and that's how you know you put the wrong pieces together. I plan on gluing the large flat areas so I can put it back into the box semi assembled or keep it as a statement piece without worry that it could be smashed to pieces or that any liquid or dirty hands could ruin the paper.
