The Best Voltage Tester, US-made
Everyone knows how frustrating NCVT’s can be. The cheap ones work, but not reliably, & sometimes stop working.I took a few NFPA courses, and the electrical instructor recommended the Santronics 3115 tester, as it’s the only one approved by OSHA.I got one, and it’s great. But an audio NCVT is also useful & Santronics 3000 fits that bill. It’s every bit as accurate & tough as the 3115, and doesn’t have any of the stupid bells & whistles of “fancier” units. Santronics is also the only American company making NCVT’s. I’m a facility maintenance worker at a hospital, so we are frequently testing & repairing electrical devices & circuits. I’d had a couple Klein’s over the years, & an excellent Fluke tester. The Klein’s are good, but seem to have long term reliability issues. My Fluke is actually made by Santronics, but their newer units are not. Fluke’s newer models also require a separate tester for low voltage.Pros:• Always on• Bright Light• Loud Beep• Aside from minor bumps which make it flash, I haven’t had any false positives or negatives.• Polycarbonate construction is really tough• Made in the USA• Great PriceCons:• Unlike the Santronics 3115, which visual only, the 3000 is not OSHA approved. Probably a bureaucratic thing, as the 3115 is the ONLY OSHA approved tester.

works better than most
This Voltage detector works better than the other brands I have owned. This is the second of this manufacturer I bought. Its easy to use, no on/off switch. When it senses a voltage field it beeps and lights up. With all these voltage detectors you have to learn when they may lie to you. As will all of these it will tell you sometimes that there is power on when there is not. It can pick up static electricity, or sense power from a wire nearby it. Also if your circuit is sharing a neutral with another circuit it may pick up that. Never trust one of these. THESE DETECTORS SHOULD NOT BE USED BY AMATURES.

Stick with OG Santronic
The audible warning is not reliable and over all the voltage detection is not as good as the original. The OG is the best voltage detector there is and this is sadly worse.

Bright LED, the beeping is kind of slow, overall good device. It says Made in the USA.
If you own a house, you will be doing all kind of electrical modifications I think if you are not scare of electricity, like adding switches, lights, rewiring outlets, you name it. Of course, do to all of these, you will turn off the breaker that you think power the area you will be working on, well sometimes that is not true, yes you turn off the breaker for the particular light you are working on, but guess what? There are more wires that are connected to other breakers that are not turned off, they are live! If that is the case, you need a device like this to make sure you are not working on a live wire or hot wire.I like the accuracy of this device, for example, on a duplex wire, it tells you which side or wire is the hot (LED turns ON), and which one is the neutral (LED will not turn ON), and the LED is very bright. The beeping is kind of slow, it beeps but it takes a second or two after the LED is ON.

World’s Most Underrated Tic Tracer
If you use this tic tracer you’ll never want to use another one. As an electrician i keep it on me all day.- It’s always on, no on/off buttons that eventually break- Doesn’t drain batteries, I get about 6 months with energizers/duracell- Glows and Beeps for 120v, glows but doesn’t beep for lower voltage, this is really handy for troubleshooting.-No false positives with this because it’s 50-1000v.If you’re in the market for a voltage detector, this is the one to get. Will buy again and again
