I've used it for years... Well worth the money for all kinds of leather.
I've been using this conditioner for years and have always loved it. I've used it on boots, rawhide, saddle leather, a knife case that my grandfather gave me on my 18th birthday that he had received in his 40s, and a great many other things. Every item I've used it on has been either renewed or--in the case of extremely old leather--renewed. Until recently, I've never used it on exotic leathers and was a little worried to do so. A few weeks back, I bought a pair of teju lizard skin boots for around $400 dollars. I debated on what to use to condition this notoriously dry and picky leather and, because of the way this product has treated me in the past, decided upon it. At first, it dulled the shine of the boots, as expected, but with very little buffing out with a goat-hair boot brush, the shine came back. The boots look and feel great. Because of that, I decided it was high time to review this surprising product.Just as a matter of note, this is a silicone and wax free product, so it is soft on a lot of finicky leathers. It also contains lanolin, which is the oil naturally found in the wool of sheep, which really hydrates and softens leather. All-in-all, this is a product that is well worth a try and one which I will use probably until I stop being so fond of leather (which is unlikely to ever happen).

Cadillac Boot & Shoe Care: Gentle on Leather, Nice Consistency but Not Perfect
I purchased this Cadillac care product not for use on shoes but a vintage Alviero Martini (map print) handbag. The leather had begun to develop very fine cracks from dryness along the piping. The handles on the satchel are already a tan color so my main worry wasn't about the product changing the color (which a lot of leather cleaners/conditioners will do to "naked" leather). Cadillac seemed to condition fairly well. It "dried" to original color. I wasn't as impressed on the piping (still looks dry) as I was on the handles, but there's only so much you can do when the damage is that far along. I don't think this product has much potential to lift stains, but otherwise it's good. It has the consistency of a lotion, as opposed to the better-known Lexol leather brand that is more watery in consistency (whereas Lexol's leather conditioner is somewhat oily). This product, while good, does have limitations, though. I used it in attempt to deal with the after-effects of denim dye transfer onto an ivory leather handbag and it didn't do much (may have allowed the dye to penetrate more, actually, and so it was necessary to resort to a harsher product: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser). In reading leather cleaner/conditioner reviews for various brands sold here on Amazon, it seems the best one for vachetta-trimmed bags like Louis Vuitton and Dooney & Bourke is the Apple brand. I own Cadillac Care, Lexol, Meguiars and recently ordered the Apple leather brand cleaner, conditioner and their spray-on rain/stain repellent. When I have a chance to compare Apple brand products to the others I own, I'll update my review to reflect the best all-around choice.

Great stuff!
I am kicking myself for not taking before/after pictures. This stuff works wonders! I bought a pre-owned Elliott Lucca handbag online. When it arrived I nearly just threw it away - the leather was so terribly dry with white cracks all over that I didn't think the thrift store would even want it.I had some Cadillac lotion on hand, as I use it regularly to maintain my leather boots. I gave it a try on the purse. The first application didn't give me much reason to hope - the leather was cleaner, but that's about it. I'm not sure why I kept at it, but I'm really glad I did. It's absolutely gorgeous now! I figured out that, to make a difference in this handbag, I'd have to modify how I used the lotion:- I took the instruction to apply it liberally very, very seriously - really slathered it on, doing one side of the bag at a time- I ignored the instruction to buff when dry- I repeated, repeated, repeated, allowing at least a hour between applications and massaging the lotion in as the leather became more supple- I kept at it until I was happy with the leather, then did one more application and buffed when dryI've only restored this one purse, so I can't say whether the lotion and my little tips on using it would work on other old/damaged items. I can say, though, that the results were impressive enough that I heartily recommend giving it a try.
