Great first readers
My 5-year-old had been enjoying these. Great for teaching phonics and decoding skills. They seem a bit pricy considering what they are, but my son likes the stories and the colorful pictures (some other early readers have such boring illustrations). And the stickers are a nice motivation.

Easy to Use! Great for Early Readers
I love these readers! First of all the drawings are wonderful. It even comes with a cute bag to keep them all in. Second, these are cute little stories, perfect for someone learning to read. Stories come with letters, sight words and blending practice right in the front pages. Great little warm up before reading the book. These can easily be a stand alone reading curriculum or supplement what is already being used. Early readers need opportunities to practice their reading skills without being overwhelmed and these are great for that! Cannot wait to read them all and buy the other sets! The Dash website also has activity packs for each reader! Amazing!!!!

Darling illustrations, stories not engaging, especially for the price
The illustrations of these books are sweet. That drew me to the series. I was willing to pay for these highest price readers I've bought to get full color, cute style illustrations. The little tote bag that comes with set is nice. The text font is exactly right. However, I returned this set of books after reading through them. Were they decodable? Yes. Is there a lot of running in multiple books by the characters in order to use the words "ran" and "run". Unfortunately, yes. Half the children's names aren't typical and I'd have to explain to my students what the word was that they just sounded out. Sorry, not a hit for me.Update: Among other beginning reader sets I bought (NO sponsorship here, just trying to help fellow teachers/parents out) was a set of Flyleaf Publishing Emergent Readers. Also on the pricey side but WOW, knocked my socks off with stories, illustrations, decodability. Hands down the #1 set I bought to build my teaching library.

Worked for us! Kids loved them.
I especially liked that there was a combination of phonics and sight words. The extra activity packs are great too--fun ideas, nice illustrations, and they build nicely from very simple on up. I do agree that they are a bit pricey, BUT you can get them on really good sales now and then. I emailed them and they even told me when the sales were coming up! That made them really worth it :)

Why is this so expensive????
I really thought I;d be getting more! I appreciate what they are providing, but $60 is ridiculous for a few paperback books. There are free apps that hold my children's interest better. The only real benefit here is being able to sit with a book with them and feel a little more engaged, but I find the cost very rude!

Great for early readers and parents
These books are a delightful way for young children to learn reading skills! The illustrations are so colorful and the stories are perfect for early readers. I really like the step-by-step instructions for teaching your child. I’m looking forward to the second set!

Appeals to boys and girls
These books are amazing! My two youngest kids are learning to read using these. They are 6 and 4 years old, boy and girl, and each book appeals to both kids.

Beautiful…but not worth the price 😬
I ordered this set and was thoroughly disappointed. I love beautiful books as much as the next person, but I couldn’t understand why the set was so expensive. Ending up sending back because I knew I couldn’t justify the price.
