Gamakatsu Offset Shank Round Bend Worm Hook

This is my leading hook for worm fishing for almost any style rig. They hold the worm well for presentation. They set well. There is enough weight in relatively shallow waters (which I fish most of the time) to sink the lure at just the correct wiggle-wobble rate to attract those largemouth predators :-)

Growing up, it never occurred to me that some hooks could be sharper than others. just bought whatever hooks the local sore sold, and used them. I caught a lot of fish over the years, and lost even more.Then I noticed that fishing pro Bill Dance (a fishing demi-god in these parts) used Gamakatsu hooks, and decided to give them a try. More expensive? You bet they are. But hooks are re-usable, so they really don't cost a lot per fish caught -- and I catch more fish on these. The sharpest hooks pierce the fish's lip or roof of mouth easily, don't give the fish a chance to spit or shake it out. IMHO they're well worth the money over ordinary hooks.
