Cuts the Heat from the Sun
I bought four of these umbrellas for my adult kids. They were vacationing together in the July heat and I knew they would be sightseeing outdoors. The umbrellas were perfect! They cut the heat by blocking the sun and provide UV protection. It's amazing the difference standing under this umbrella. My teacher daughter now uses the umbrella on the playground at school and has other teachers asking to borrow it! Buy your own!! This umbrella is large and really is adequate for two people. It is collapsable which makes it convenient for travel and for leaving in the back of your car. Feels sturdy after a summer of use.

Bought this for summer in Florida.
One of my favorite sun protection products. The umbrella is a bit heavier. I have had no issues w breezes, although a gust did flip the umbrella but there was no damage and you just had to turn it upright again. The umbrella does fold back into case, you just need to be mindful of the folds going in the same direction when strapping it. It’s really not that difficult. The umbrella pops open quite easily, press the button again and the umbrella does a quick half collapse of the spines…it does take a bit of strength to push the umbrella pole back into itself. The only thing that is a negative is that unless you push it back in fully reclined, you cannot just pop it open again. So there is a LOT of popping open, collapsing and pushing the pole back in itself when going in and out of stores. I wish I could just do a quick half close and then reopen. But it doesn’t do that.Took it to Florida. The silver fabric was fantastic for bouncing the heat off and keeping me cool. Most ppl were fine, a few ppl were looking at me weird, but I didn’t care, bc I was not over heating the way they were. It protected my skin too. The navy liner did not bounce light around on me underneath the umbrella. The temperatures were brutal at 98*F and super humid. This umbrella kept me sane when walking around as well as protecting my skin, but you still have to wear sunscreen to protect from UV from reflecting off of surfaces like concrete. I highly recommend for warm weather where you don't want to be cloaked in heat trapping clothing.

It really shields the sun!
As an avid hiker, I really liked it. I do a lot of hiking and I am in Arizona so it’s really hot and this umbrella really shields me from the sun. My only issue is that it’s a bit hard to close but it does do the job! It’s good material and thick. The sun does NOT go through it.

Life saver in Arizona heat!
Highly Recommend! Life saver in the Arizona heat and rain! This umbrella protects my skin and provides coolness under any sunlight, especially the intense sunlight. Bought one for my mom who carries it with her everywhere.

If it doesn't lock open first time, fully close & try again
At first I thought this umbrella was a dud. I clicked the open button, it went popping out, but it didn't lock into place fully extended. I tried pushing it out to lock like you do with a standard umbrella but there was no noticeable way to lock it. My boyfriend, his dad, and my mom couldn't get it to lock either. I was looking at at the instructions in confusion since it says it is supposed to lock automatically and all I should have to do is push the release button. The one thing we hadn't tried is fully closing the umbrella all the way. I pushed it back in till it locked closed the pressed the release button again and it launched open and locked into place. I've used it a couple days since where I was opening and closing it repeatedly throughout the day and have had no issues. The size is nice and can cover two people if you're close. Durability seems good. It is a little heavy for traveling and carry in my purse. Possibly I should have gone with a smaller lighter weight option that would only cover me for traveling but so far I have no complaints about the value of the umbrella.

EXCELLENT UV PROTECTION IF YOU USE IT PROPERLY / NOT AS STURDY AS DESCRIBED
reflects and blocks sunlight but like all umbrellas that claim to not fold in wind, it does in fact fold in light breezes.an umbrella is only as good as the length of time it functions and works as intended so this might take a few months or a year to find out if it is indeed well made.UPDATE: It's definitely not wind-proof. Will fold backwards even in a slight breeze so you need to angle and support it appropriately. As far as UV protection, it seems to block all the sunlight because of its reflective silver coating and the black coating underneath that. You need to adjust the umbrella in your hand to effectively block the direct sunlight as you walk. It has kept me from being exposed to the sun. Even in the hottest midday sun, I have not come home looking burned at all. I wish everyone would use these. I live in a major city and I never see other people using these cancer preventative UV protection umbrellas, and I can't understand why they don't.2 Month Update: One of the plastic hooks broke apart today for absolutely no reason at all. I only used it a few times. Just read that others had the same issue I did. Contacted seller tonight (06/21/2021). I Will update again to let you know the outcome of that email and what the resolution is.Update: I emailed the company with a picture of the defect in their product. Waited a week and they emailed me back, kicking the can back at Amazon or offering me 15% off another purchase. I contacted Amazon and Amazon issued me a refund. Moreover, I read the same defective product issues from other verified purchasers as I experienced. No more G4FREE for me.
