Small size - good coffee
Have to say I agree with the cleaning chore but none the less an impressive bit of kitchen ware and it only occupies about the same space a a kettle so you could enter a bit of one upmanship and put one on your desk at work! Does come apart easily to facilitate no fuss cleaning, best done under the tap in the sink I found. An impressive innovative introduction to Bean-to-Cup

Fresh tasting good cofee maker apart from cleaning
I've bought this because I love the taste of freshly grinded coffee beans. This is my first cofee machine. Done some research and read tons of reviews before shortlisting this one. Unfortunately, there are not much choices for this price range. I didn't wanted to spend hundreds of pounds for something I wasn't sure I'm gonna use regularly or stick to instant coffee due to quick turnaround time. The machine is good and it makes nice, fresh tasting coffee. However, as most of the other reviewers already told, it's not that easy to clean. I don't know if this is the case with all other coffee machines around this price range. Maybe this will not be a problem if you drink couple of coffees all day and clean it once a day, but I only drink one or two at most per day, so it's not a good design for me. If it was only one chamber with a filter and wet coffee, then it would've been much easier to clean. But for the price, I would still rate this 4 stars. Hope this is helpful :)

Compact yet does the job well!
Fab little coffee maker. It's small but easy to use for two mugs of coffee at a time. Looks good with touch screen display, grinds beans well and I would say it's just as good as the much more expensive versions!

Poor grinding - and a pain to clean.
I bought this to help reduce my Nespresso compatible capsule waste - but I was soon looking for alternatives! The first thing a bean to cup coffee machine has to do is grind the coffee - this Lakeland machine failed at this first hurdle! I found an unacceptably high proportion of my Lavazza Crema e Aroma coffee beans had only been cut in two pieces! So, I purchased a coffee grinder, which improved the coffee quality no end. However, I found cleaning the machine was a bit of a bind, which would have been bearable if the grinder had been more efficient - but as I was pre-grinding the beans the machine had lost it's usefulness. So now I bought a cafetiere!Grinder and cafetiere together cost less than half the price of the Lakeland machine - Lot easier to use and much better coffee. At the end I was using the Lakeland machine about once a week. Now I use the grinder and cafetiere every day - - no brainer.

It is fine ...however
Nice and compact and sits on the work surface. It works well but to be honest I dont use it very much as after each use I have to take the thing apart to clean all the bits.

At last....a proper cup of Joe!
I read some reviews before deciding to give this machine a go and some comments re cleaning did make me think, but, there's no better opinion than your own at the end of the day! I think that this is the best machine ever!I have searched for a bean to cup machine for the last 3 years and all I really needed was to look a little closer to home. I have spent a lot of money the last few years looking for a machine that delivers coffee like I had in America. Finally, this one does the trick! I've used both ready ground and beans in this. It's so easy to set once you know how much you want to make, how strong you want it and whether its beans or ground.Important to know... Their coffee cup is around 100 mls. My mug takes around 250 mls. The grounds retain around 25 (ish) mls so, for my mug, I put just under the 3 cup mark of water in. That leaves me room for my milk (if you take it). The jug takes 4 cups so it's around 2 mugs with frothy milk if you fill the machine to capacity. The quantity of coffee beans by weight in the book I found to be spot on. I put 2 1/2 level scoops of beans in for my 1 mug.For any coffee fans who can't get that non- bitter cuppa, try Arabica beans at strength 3.This machine is fabulous. Its 3 steps to take it apart and I just run it all under the tap for a few seconds which is all it takes to clean it.I've given my son the £300 machine as he seems to be happy with bitter, burnt tasting coffee and a machine that takes ages to clean!I can't recommend this machine enough and I'll drink to that!
