Asma'ul Husna: The 99 Beautiful Names of Allah

Lovely.
This is a gorgeous little book with very pretty calligraphy and very simple teachings about each of the names. it's great for young children and older people as well - any age group can learn something from it. It's a small book, too, and personally I think it's the best one this author has ever written, even though he didn't technically write much of it, since it's a listing of 99 names.

The accurate and standard 99 names
This is a really good book and accurate. I've noticed that other books in ICNA and ISNA conventions about Allah's 99 names will leave out Ad-Darr and Dhul Jalalay ValIkram and put some other characteristics of Allah to make up the 99 names. I don't know why they do that. But this book has all of them, without tweaking them. Beautiful book.

Uninformative and repetitive
As a non-muslim who is trying to understand the concept of the 99 beautiful names of Allah, this book did a lousy job in explaining them. The translations were suspiciously repetitive.

The Asma'Ul-Husna:The 99 Beautiful Names of God
This books transmits to the reader the depth of the beautiful names of God. There are other books out that have the same theme but the explanation of this book could of only come from that One. A source of daily prayer and inspiration no matter your what your belief system or religion is. Alhumdullilah - All Praise is to God

An Evocative Beginning
The Asma'ul Husna is an essential tradition and methodology within almost all branches of Sufism and Islam. The text itself is worthwhile because it breaks in someways from more mechanical understandings of the beautiful names, but is, I feel, lacking in a certain poetry of language that could be more evocative to the native user of english. A respectful and deeply thought re-rendering of this version of the names and their significance ought to be attempted by an interpreter of the divine like Daniel Ladinsky, who might be able to make the words of Bawa come better to light.

It is not a book based on the Sunnah
The transaction was great. However, it was not a book for Muslims who believe in the Sunnah.
