Contemplating Morris Flower Design Forms
This would make a lovely gift for an admirer of the flower designs of William and May Morris. The discussion of and numerous color plates allow the reader to contemplate William and May Morris’s design interests and techniques as each design, whether for wallpaper, fabric, tapestry, book border, etc., is examined and discussed in detail. Both William Morris and his daughter May Morris were inspired by nature and natural forms for their pattern designs, for course, but I had not realized until I read the introduction presented here that a great deal of that inspiration came from the gardens they planted and maintained at the Morris homes Red House and Kelmscott Manor. Part of their inspiration was to bring the outside indoors and transform, through art, daily living in the home with the beauty encountered in the garden. A lovely book, highly recommended.

Book is not full-size.
Good written information; however the pictures are rather small. Book is not full-size. Price a bit steep for what you get.

I like this approach from the flower perspective, but, the " strawberry thief" print....is missing! What a disappointment! I loved this little book though. Nice for a coffe table.
