Lil bit more maintenance but overall good weapon
Blade arrived a bit rusty in a few spots but overall it's a decent well made sword

Maybe fantastic, maybe not...
The first sword I purchased was exactly as pictured, thin tapered blade, well shaped grip with a flaring pommel and excellent proportions- very well made and well worth the price. I immediately ordered a second one- major disappointment: The blade was over-flattened to almost a gladius shape, the grip was just round wood that had been sharply tapered at the end to a little nub of a pommel. I don't know how this radically inferior version got sent out, but I had to return it. Replacement was not an option through Amazon at the time, so I'm left to decide if I want to order another and hope for a better result. The 3 star rating is 5 stars for the first one and 1 star for the second. Hope you have better luck...

Not as pictured. Think I got a dupe....four times.
1 star because I ordered 4 of these swords and not single one looked like the sword shown. Similar? Sure. And this is not about the Damascus pattern as I knew that could vary. It's like someone is making a dupe of the sword that's pictured. The handle is completely round, Coke bottle like shaped, not flattened on the sides as in the photos which makes it hard to grip. Pommel is a small thin casket shape and not flared out like a wedge for grip. Wood handle is a much lighter color and looks/feels untreated. Cross guard has rough finish and proportions look off. Sheath felt like it came from a completely different sword. It's too large and has thick black leather corset stitching on the outside running down the length, not plain brown as pictured.

SURPRISING GOOD BUY
'Tis rare when you get something better than expected and this sword is. To qualify my background I have a Shimano katana and a Wakashiri, a Cold Steel bastard sword, a Honshu war sword, a custom Silver Stag stag handled short sword, various knives of all shapes and sizes and I am glad to add this beauty to my collection. The Damascus is beautiful. The polished handle is olive wood and it comes in a very nice leather scabbard which is a work of art in itself. The cross member and end bolster is all Damascus and all it is very, very tight which the handle. It is a one-handed sword, very sharp and easy to swing. The blade is about 4 inches shorter than my Wakashiri but if you had to battle, the light weight is an easy compensation. This sword comes from Pakistan and the workmanship is very inspiring. I have a Kukri from India and the workmanship parallels this blade. The sword was very well oiled and it took my about 15 minutes to separate the sword from all the paper and plastic it was wrapped in. A good thing - not complaining! The only con about the sword purchase itself is that the scabbard has a strap for which to carry the sword on your back. This feature I do not like but the strap can be cut off. The other issue I had was with DHL. I guess coming from Pakistan that is the freight carrier of choice but man oh man! Besides absolutely needing a signature {I tried to get them to leave it at my front door} they almost sent the sword back after I finally figured out I would have to go pick it up. If I would of waited another half hour this review would of never been written! All in all I am glad to add this sword to my collection.

Not Bad for the Price
It looks and feels good for the price. I bought it as a prop, so I haven't tried to test its durability.

Meh
The biggest problem with this sword is the handle. It is bottle shaped, which makes a big overlap where it meets the guard. On the other end, it tapers into a little plug which is supposed to be a pommel. I have big hands, and the diameter is still too big for a comfortable grip. Additionally, the round shape gives you no sense of the edge orientation. The pattern weld is much less attractive than the example in the pictures. This is not remotely viking, I guess that is just the flavor du jour.

I’m shocked.
This thing is a beauty. For the price, for the quality, weight, sharpness, battle readiness. Couldn’t be happier, will be buying more for friends

I love the weight it's easy to handle and it just my size I'm 5'3 and it's sits great on my back or waist. It is very sharp I wasn't really expecting it to be as sharp as it is
