As my current expensive expanding hose sprung a leak at the join between the hose and metal ends I decided to just go for an inexpensive one that had the highest number of reviews (13k). This would have been fine if it had been a standard size but is actually as far as I can see US sizes so I would have had to buy extras that I understand are circa £7-£10. So to go back a bit - on receiving the hose I opened the box and could see that the tab opener had been opened several times, the bag it should have been in was at the bottom of the box , the hose was all tangled and although it didn’t seem to have been used one end was slightly stretched. I took it out to the back door and tried to attach it to the dual ended hose adaptor I use, there was no way it was going to fit. I then took the dual ended adaptor off and tried again directly to the tap, still no luck so back in the box it went to be returned. To be honest from the experience I have I know this hose would not have lasted being taken across my hard landscaping as the material was quite thin round the tubing.

Wish I had bought this earlier! I have a tiered vegetable garden and dragging the regular garden hose up and down steps and over retaining wall has become a drag. Finally bought this Flexi Hose and it is now a joy. This lightweight hose lets me get in between foliage and water at root level easily. So easy that I now take the hose back down and hang it up after each use. It was such a struggle with my old 50' hose that I used to just leave the hose in my tiered garden, which is a tripping hazard (my husband did trip last year and fell down to the lower level right through the pole bean trellis!). I did not measure if the hose really expanded 3x, but it definitely does expand significantly. I saw a couple of reviews complaining that the hose does not expand - I suspect that these users did not follow instructions properly or use common sense. You have to shut off the hose (at the end of the spray head) first then turn on the water. This is how the water pressure builds up to expand the hose. If you leave the shut-off open and the water freely flowing through, of course the hose won't expand! Duh! Do not expect water pressure to be the same as the rigid garden hose, as the diameter of the hose is narrower. First few uses leave the smell of latex on your hands - do not buy if you are allergic to latex. I love the Flexi Hose. I don't know what the longevity would be, but honestly if it only lasts just a season or two, I would continue to buy it and will continue to recommend it.
