A Marvelous Book
This is a marvelous book written by a very brave and sincere soul who has been blazing a trail for spiritual seekers in pursuit of enlightenment. He details his over 40 year journey which led to his reaching level of consciousness 1000. He even includes his journal entries. The reason this is important is because it is so rare. Many spiritual teachers became spontaneously awakened, but don't have a clue about how to help others to become awakened. My former teacher, the late adorable Dr. David Hawkins was one such teacher. While he wrote many wonderful books about how it feels to be enlightened, he could not really tell you how to get there. The best he could do was to point you to the Course in Miracles or tell you to follow one spiritual principle like having reverence for all Life no matter what. Ramaji also has a wonderful listing of spiritual teachers and his calibrations of their level of consciousness. Most seem more accurate to me than the ones Dr Hawkins did. When Ramaji did a calibration on me it seemed right on. I went back to the section in the book where it described my level and he had me nailed. He also has a list of spiritual teachers who have reached LOC 1000 and most are still living. I have had a wonderful time listening to many of them on YouTube. The only criticism I have of this book involves one 2 paragraph section out of the 700 plus pages. This section starts on page 126 with his calibration of Bill Gates. For those of us who are still challenged by having a mind, it may seem unfathomable how he could calibrate Bill Gates at 525 which is in the Love band of the map of consciousness. This is above the rational, logical intellectual band of the 400s. It was my understanding that people in the 500's had risen above intellect and entered into lovingness as a value and tried to support things that were for the benefit of mankind. For those of you who are well informed about what is going on on the world stage, there may be some real cognitive dissonance here. Bill Gates has stated publically that: 1. he supports vaccinations to be used for population control 2. He supports Monsanto and GMO's (he owns 23 million dollars worth of Monsanto stock) 3. he supports Common Core and has donated lots of money to it. (he does not want his children subjected to it so he sends them to private schools where there is no Common Core curriculum) 4. he supports death panels--which means that very old people should not be allowed to have medical care because just 3 months worth of medical care for a very old person could pay the salaries of 10 teachers. If you have not heard him publicly state these things, he can be heard stating them on YouTube by searching 1. Bill Gates-vaccinations-population control 2. Bill Gates-Common Core 3. Bill Gates-Monsanto 4. Bill Gates-death panels. Now, while these stances could be justified by someone in the intellectual 400s as "the ends justify the means", they hardly seem to me to be very loving as each of these stances causes harm to others When I asked Ramaji about this I really became aware that at his LOC of 1000, the world is seen very differently and my still having a mind was a distinct disadvantage. What he said to me was almost incomprehensible. He said a person's level of consciousness has nothing to do with their behavior. I guess he was implying that there was no doer. But then I was left really scratching my head when I recalled that he stated on page 127 that the reason he calibrated Bill Gates at 525 was because of his generosity of donating so much money to support the vaccinations being used for population control. So I am still left dumb founded and am very eager to get to level 1000 to see how the world looks from that vantage point. I guess if you don't have a mind you don't have a need to be consistent. While I am still totally confused about the Bill Gates calibration, this section was a minor minor part of this excellent book and I guess I will just have to put up with the disability of still having a mind for a little longer!

Mysticism demystified
Since experiencing a spiritual awakening several years ago, I've been interested in maps of consciousness. I read John Rowan's "The Transpersonal", which included Ken Wilber's map, shortly thereafter; a few months ago, I stumbled onto David Hawkins' books, and a few weeks ago Ramaji's "1000." In my opinion, this book is an indispensible, must-have guide for any spiritual seeker. Ramaji does a great job of demystifying mysticism; his description of LOC (Levels of Consciousness) of typical spiritual seekers (560+) is the most thorough I have come across to date - he provides vivid, accessible descriptions of ranges 560-600 as well as drawing parallels between these ranges of pre-enlightenment and non-duality ranges of LOC 600+ (e.g. the 560s are similar to 600s, 570s to 700s, etc.)One of the most interesting and eye-opening parts of the book for me personally was the discussion of enlightened (typically 600s level) "rogues, rascals and renegades." What do Charles Manson, Nietzsche, and Aleister Crowley have in common? Get this book if you want to find out. It sheds a light on why some gurus "behave badly" or have addictions they can't control. This is simply something every spiritual seeker must know to avoid unnecessary confusion (or, at worst, victimization.)Ramaji's personal journal provides an additional, personal layer to the material. This is no remote, abstruse text; the struggle for enlightenment is brought down to earth through the experiences of the author. This connection with the reader is especially valuable; it is easy to deify or "other" enlightened people, losing sight of shared humanity and the frequently difficult and perilous journey to the Absolute. In short, I can't recommend this book highly enough - I'm much better off having read it than not, which isn't something I can say about a lot of books out there.Update: (9-18-2017) Thanks to repeated RASA from Ramaji, my LOC has risen over 100 points into the 670s over the last 5 months. Currently stabilized in non-duality. Read the book. Get the RASA. Awaken.Update: (6-2-2018) Reached 1000 back in October. Currently going through the post-1000 integration process. Ignore the bad reviews of this book: these people are not speaking from any real experience with either Ramaji or RASA. Ramaji and Ananda Devi are the best kept secret of the non-duality community. I suppose one could fault the book on style points (everyone's literary taste is different), but Ramaji's map has in my experience been astonishingly accurate. Regardless, it's not about the map, it's about RASA, which is a spiritual tool of unparalled potency. Yes, it can help you reach 1000 (or Unity Consciousness as some have called it) within 6 months to a year which then tees you up for the integration process which is the ultimate work of purification prior to sahaja.

A must-read for the serious seeker
Ramaji provides a very thorough explanation of levels of consciousness and the stages of awakening for both beginner and veteran spiritual seekers alike. An excellent source of information for anybody seriously interested in self realization. Highly recommended.

The 'Where am I's on the way to 'Who am I': Everything that a seeker must know about the path
The world of seekers is very hazy and confusing with a swarm of spiritual teachings like 'I am everything', 'I am nothing', 'It's all about love', 'There is no self', 'Ego is unreal', 'One must get rid of desire', 'There is no such thing as enlightenment', 'Infinite bliss' and so on and on. One gets trapped into the generalizations and can neither make any effort nor is able to drop the effort.Ramaji has very clearly identified different spiritual teachers and the place from where they are speaking. One then can very clearly see the different steps and experiences that are unlocked along the way. One understands all those teachings are true and they are not contradictory to each other. Its just that they are coming from teachers/students from their current experiences. And this is very important for one to know and understand what exactly is the end of seeking and how not to stop and crystallize before you hit the absolute. There is also the work to do post-awakening but there is a crystal clear understating and experience and verification of having completed the seeking part of the journey. This part I think is the most important of all as some people have propagated the idea that there is no end to seeking. Moreover the record he kept of his 42 years of practice/correspondence is a goldmine. Being a student of self inquiry myself, I was immensely benefited from it. I have read the book first time in 2017 and still refer from time to time. I immediately recognized my LOC being somewhere in 600s (which I then thought is the end of seeking because everything what UG krishnamurty said made absolute sense to me) and it has guided me to keep seeking and I am seeing for myself my journey through various stages described by Ramaji and I can testify that everything in there is absolutely accurate -- The experience of being the vastness of universe of LOC 700s, basking in divine love of LOC 800s and final tracking of the I-thought of LOC 900s.He has also debunked the spiritual beliefs that make oneself doubting their awakening such as 'how do I still have thoughts', 'why do I still get upset' and so on and so on. So I am grateful to him that he has given us this incredible gift and I think it is a must have for a seeker no matter what their inclination is. Ramaji is a great sage, a Maharshi of our own time and one cannot just not go through what he has bestowed upon us.

Amazing book. Comfortable and easy to read. Do give it a go.
I was slightly cautious with this, having read about the Vedic levels and didn’t know what to expect with this numbering system, but I found I really enjoyed the book. I am a slow reader and often do not finish a book, but I seized every opportunity to continue reading this 700+ page book. And it all makes a lot of sense and ties nicely with what I had already learned and personally experienced. And I have been moved to strongly recommend it to others. There is little or nothing about HOW to do it, but wonderful descriptions and explanations and examples of the levels and how they manifest and are experienced, by the person themselves as well as those around them. The book feels like a true gift of knowledge and a lifetime of experience, and to anyone interested in the spiritual path and how it deepens, particularly into the stages of enlightenment, I would strongly suggest they give it a go.

A one-of-a-kind guide book
This book is like no other, it has been immensely beneficial for me in confirming where I am on my journey. Its also incredibly interesting and the author clearly has a profound understanding of the journey ( obviously he has walked it himself in its entirety). I'm sure I will be revisiting this book again and again as I venture along on my journey.Thank you Ramaji and Ananda Devi
