I love these. Soak overnight and use the liquid for your stock. Good in every way if you cannot buy the fresh ones.

Perfect for a special steak sauce
Great morels! Come in a sealed packaged and completely dried, so I'm sure the would last a very long time in the cupboard.The morels themselves had a great flavour, but considering the amount I put in my sauce, maybe a tiny bit muted compared to what I am used to. I suspect that this may be due to the variety of the morel (Chinese vs French), but I am still very satisfied with it, especially for the price.To make a nice morel sauce, soak the morels in milk until soft (don't throw away the milk!). When soft, cut the mushrooms in half and quickly rinse with water so remove some of the sand). Sautee the morels in butter alongside onions (not too many) or shallots until the latter are translucent. Deglaze with some white wine and let the wine evaporate. When evaporated, add double cream and the milk into the pot (not all the milk to not reintroduce the sand into the sauce). Evaporate the cream on low heat until desired consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.I personally love this sauce on steak served with a side of pasta, as the subtle sweetness of the sauce blends better with pasta than with fries. I used the whole pot for the sauce for 2 people. I could've used half, as there were more than enough mushrooms, but I'm concerned that the flavour would have been too muted if I had done so.

Really tasty
These morels add a wonderful rich, earthy flavour to mushroom dishes. Added to soup, stews and casseroles they really enhance the umami flavour and added to sauces they turn any dish into something very special, especially with a dollop of cream and a splash of wine. Will definitely buy again.

Good stuff
Lovely in mushroom risotto. If you soak them in hot water first, the liquid colours and makes an excellent stock.
