Helpful
As a medical staff, this book helps me a lot to understand both physical and theology

Interesting and insightful, encouraging.
An insightful (and somewhat biographical) description of the realities of a medical mission in a remote area of Africa from the viewpoint of a missionary surgeon. The author relates some of the elements of the practice of medicine to various aspects of God's character as demonstrated in Jesus Christ. Having a medical background and having recently visited a poor African country myself (not on a medical mission), I really enjoyed and related to this book. The copy I read was loaned to me by a friend; I purchased this copy as a gift for a nurse practitioner friend who has a keen interest in the subject.

Dr. Stevens is "A Pencil in the Hands of God"
Even if you arent a Christian, there are heartwarming and valuable lessons in this book that any doctor or nurse can learn from. This is an amazing and well-written book that describes real-life, simple and complex medical procedures (in laymans terms if you dont understand medical terminology) through the eyes of a doctor devoted to serving God. Dr. Stevens describes providing patient care via biblical perspective in a way that will open your eyes and make you a better caregiver and Christian. His energy and heartfelt devotion to underserved patients will leave you awestruck and inspired. The world is a better place with physicians like David Stevens, and as Mother Teresa would say- "a pencil in the hand of God".

Amazing, inspiring!
Thank you Dr. Stevens for your wonderful book. It was eloquent, straight to the point, and full of inspiration for me as a child of God. A child of God that is preparing to venture into medicine and to be involved with medical missions. I will put all your lessons into my heart and mind so I can use them to better this world in Jesus name. God Bless you.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE JESUS M.D.!
This is THE BEST book that I have read in a long time! Serving as a Christian missionary in the U.S. and in Haiti myself, this true story really comes to life for me. I love how the author relates the medical field with Jesus' ministry! I am so thankful that a medical missionary in an airport recently recommended the book to me and that Amazon offered it!

Highly recommend
Very interesting from a medical standpoint but great for anyone. I appreciated the many practical applications on how to live more effectively as a follower of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. I plan to loan it to several nurses as well as to a pre-med student and pray it will strongly influence them toward personal faith in Jesus Christ.

A must read!
I came acroos this book and have found it fascinating and extremely helpful. Although not a Physician, I am a paramedic who has daily contact with ill, wounded, and broken people. This book has deepened my compassion for them and helped me focus on what my purpose is in life. I highly recommend it to anyone in the health care field. It's principles are broad enough that those outside of the medical field will also find it refreshing.

Great book, poor quality.
The book looks like it’s been photo copied. Some of the pages are lighter than others. I pd 14.99 and wish I would have received the authentic book so I can pass on for others to read. The book is already starting to have pages fall out. It’s hard to write this because the the context of the book is beautiful. Please do your searches if you’d like the real book.
