HasbroJurassic Park Jurassic World Bag of 15 3" Dinosaurs

Alright! So I will say right off the bat I am a 32 year old woman who loves toys, dinosaurs, the Jurassic Park films are my favorite movies, and I am also a professional sculptor...just to give a rough idea of what type of person I am who would buy these, if there are any other adults considering these for themselves or kids :).I bought the 15 pack off Amazon, and also have more I have bought in Walmart directly. Personally I really enjoy these minis, I'll make note of the pros and cons I have about them, and how they compare to some other Jurassic World, and JP stuff!CONS!(I will save the positive for last): Okay, seriously people...have realistic expectations. These are mini figures. Mini figures cast in PVC overseas are not going to be some stunning display of detail and realism. Factory production costs overseas have risen dramatically due to oil prices, and so many kids are more into software nowadays, there isn't as big of a demand for toys. THAT being said, I am not 100% sure but I suspect these figures may be 3D prints of the same action figure sculpts on a smaller scale. I could be wrong, but you can note the poses are pretty much the same (especially evident in the raptor mini, it matches the same pose as the Blue action figure). The paintjobs are woeful in SOME cases, lol (as in stripe patterns going right over the eyeballs, LOL)...but these are mini figures, so this doesn't bother me, it's amazing there is any paint on these for the price. In Walmart these cost around $15 for 15 figures...what do you expect for a buck per figure? Don't get gouged by some of the jerks on ebay either, charging double the cost on these when they are still in stores! Some of the sculpt/casting quality is a bit poor, and is what makes me suspect the prototypes were 3D printed (weird lines in the mouth remind me of 3D printed pieces, but I don't know for sure). Lastly...WHERE IS APATOSAURUS (long neck) AND DILOPHOSAURUS (spitter)?????? This I do not understand one bit! Why make a pachycephalosaurus (head butter) but not a apatosaurus? And we all love the dilophosaurus! Also, why can't we have a mini Owen? I need one to put with my raptors, lol...it would be awesome to have some mini people of the main characters to go with these dinos, and an INGEN spook to feed to them, haha.PROS!: Okay, for me, SOME of my pros are what might be cons for some people, which I touched on in the cons above. I'll get those out of the way first; I like it that there are some bright colors mixed into the muted colors. For example I have an allosaurus that's bright red with black stripes. He's one of my favorites! These are TOYS, they can be fun colors! It reminds me of dinosaur toys I grew up with in the 80s and 90s, being so colorful....but they still have muted colors as well for a feel more true to the films. I also kinda like the cheapy paint, it has it's own charm of simplicity that just works with mini figures. Now onto the PRO pros; I think the details are very nice for such small figures (aside from a couple that show evidence of the prototype being potentially printed and not touched up properly), and I like that there is a variety of colors, and figures. As far as I am aware these are the dinosaurs available currently (will they make more? no idea!); Dimorphodon, Pteranodon, Velociraptor, Pachycephalosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Allosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurus, And the fictional Indominus Rex! THAT is a pretty generous variety, as much as I think they need a few other super famous dinos thrown in there....but that's 12 different dinos, not bad! If there are more someone please post and let me know, but so far that's all I can find. There seems to maybe be 3 different variants of each figure as far as I am aware of too....so when you end up with doubles, it's rarely a bad thing, because you have different versions :). I think my favorites sculpt-wise are the velociraptor, T-Rex, Indominus Rex (he's just great! awesome little bumps and spikes on that guy!), Allosaurus, pteranodon, dimetrodon, triceratops, and the Mosasaurus. But looking at them all in my collection, I think the only very weak one is the stegosaurus sculpt-wise (proportions are good though), and the worst paint app is on the mosasaurus! His sculpt is good, but the two different paint variants I have are pretty badly chosen. He should have a faded paint app like the Indominus Rex to compliment the sculpt, but instead has a thick coat of random bad color patterns just slapped on. All in all though? These are some fun little figures unless you are very picky, or just have no experience collecting toys being unaware that $1.00 mini figures are not going to be fancy, lol. It just boils down to taste though like with most things, if you can relate to the reasons I gave for liking them, do yourself a favor and snap some up! I suggest getting the bag of $15 though if you can get it between $15-$20ish, that's a better value than the single bags.OH! A TIP FOR SINGLE BAGS! This is a bit sneaky, lol...but I discovered something buying some of the single packs! If you want a T-Rex, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, or Allosaurus; Those seem to be consistently packed being held in place by a triangular piece of cardboard. So if you gently feel the bags (be careful don't open them!), and feel a hard triangle shape...it will be one of those dinos! If you want a dimorphodon, or Pteranodon, the bag will feel very flat, as those pieces are the smallest and flattest! If you want any of the others they seem to feel the bulkiest (Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus). I am not sure if the mosasaurus comes inside a triangular piece of cardboard or not. But if you are getting the same figures over and over, there's a way you can kinda guess! ;). But again, props to them for doing the color variations to reduce exact doubles! Well done on that Hasbro!Also I want to mention for anyone who remembers...when Jurassic Park 1 came out in 93, they made candy filled plastic eggs that came with mini dinosaur figures. It was a hard plastic textured egg that contained all this (very cool containers, I still have all of mine!)! The mini figures were nicely sculpted, with their feet formed to a small platform to help them stand (similar to army men). They were only about 1 inch tall (smaller than these blind bag figures that are more around 2 inches)...and they were cast in a semi soft PVC, kind of a hard rubber. These had no paint, and there was a T-Rex, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, and Dilophosaurus. These blind bag figures, are bigger, a littler more detailed, and actually cheaper than the eggs were...so this isn't a bad deal for these new mini figures, and they still remind me of the egg figures which is fun for me as an adult.CLOSING COMMENTS/RANT ABOUT OTHER TOYS! I just want to say that I really dislike most of the Jurassic World toys. These blind bag minis are my favorites (as you just read I gave them a positive review), along with the LEGO offerings. I am going to go off on a rabbit trail for a moment here but I will get back to my point! If you are around my age, and grew up with the older action figures, you know what I'm talking about. If you are a kid reading my review? (thanks!), but I'm sorry to say you are missing out :(. Ask your mom or dad to get you some of the old toys on ebay! The JP1 T-rex action figure is in every way superior to the new T-rex action figure, just to give one example. The new T-rex is small, and made out of a horrible cheap hard plastic that feels like the lowest end of happy meal toy! Even the minimal paint detailing on the eye is not accurate (T-Rex never had cat eyes! what the heck!)...the old T-Rex? Made out of a STURDY skin-like rubber that doesn't deteriorate over time! I'm 32, got it when I was 12, it's been through a few moves, and has no damage. You squeeze it's sides and it roars (which still works!), and you stomp it's feet and it has a stomp noise, which also still works. How big is it? From nose to tail it's 25-26 inches long! The new one is only 12 inches! Seriously it feels more like a lowest of quality happy meal toy, not an authentic film action figure. The sculpt on the old one along with the paint detailing is also far superior. I have a Indominus rex action figure that was a gift, it's the chomping action one with the gyro and generic soldier. Same thing, HORRIBLE cheap hard plastic, you can see all the exposed metal screw heads in his left side (really!? It looks horrible! And good luck playing with THAT in the mud or bath kids!). He also has this horrible feature where if you barely touch his side, the skin snaps back to reveal a wound. So good luck holding him by the sides kids...you barely touch it and his wound appears (lame). It's tricky to pull it back into place too, I may glue mine shut. Another failing that is massive, is they have not made an Owen or Claire action figure! I mean...here you have a main hero...riding a motorcycle with his pet raptors running around him....you don't think kids would buy (or beg parents for) an Owen on a motorcycle to go with their toy raptors and other dinosaurs? Also as one reviewer mentioned (here or on the Target website I think)...the set with all 4 raptors, they didn't even make their feet with the iconic raptor claws! I mean how can they fail to that huge of an extent? There is no excuse, it's like they just don't want to make anything good. I will note the blind bag raptors DUE thankfully have the proper raptor feet, so rest assured. All that being said, my point is...since the action figures are awful so far, we basically have Lego or mini figures to choose from. But both are great! So at least we have something! These blind bag minifigures are a breath of fresh air (in my opinion) compared to the lousy action figures out so far. I have attached a couple of photos of my growing mini collection...please excuse the messy art table :). Thanks for reading, and fingers crossed they make us some better action figures come Christmas! The movie is fantastic, and deserves proper action figures, and so do kids and adult collectors! My son has been collecting these four years and has literally over 150 of them. They have definitely ranged and how expensive we've gotten them for but these were definitely some of the cheapest. You could tell a little bit the quality isn't as great as the other sets or when you buy them in the individual little boxes but for the price the detail size durability was definitely adequate.

This was a really awesome find! I saw these bags of dinos being sold at upwards of 50$ on other sites. My son wanted these so bad but Walmart was always sold out of them. At Walmart, I believe these cost around 15$ a bag, I found these on here for a little less so I would have to say I scored. As for the quality, they are your run-of-the-mill classic mini dinosaurs. They do have slightly better detail than the ones you may remember playing with when you were a child. They do seem to be pretty durable which is really good if your child can get rough (like mine) on his/her toys. My son was over the moon for these things and is very happy with them. These came brand new and had all the neat little mini dinos you would expect to get. They ALL come with the main dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which is pretty cool looking.

This set comes with 15 dinosaurs, including the Indominus Rex. Now, not all of them are different, but rather there are only around 9 different kinds, and you get a few doubles, but they are in different colors. This set also includes a Dimorphodon, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus, and an Ankylosaurus, which do not come in the newer bag of 15 dinosaurs released by Mattel for Fallen Kingdom. So if you get both sets, than you get a wider range of different dinosaurs to put in one's mini dinosaur collection. P.S.- The different dinosaurs that you get in the newer set that differ from this set are: Apatosaurus, Stygimoloch, the Indoraptor, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Metriacanthosaurus, Blue (in particular) the Velociraptor, a slightly larger and better Mosasaurus, and a Dilophosaurus. The dinosaurs from the 2 sets differ in quality, so if you get both bags, then you will have a better variety of dinosaurs than buying one individually. My twin 3 year old dinosaur obsessed boys love these dinosaurs. I also like them bc they are the perfect size for me to not be worried about my 1 year old choking on one. Also they are painted well and have a lot of detail. These were a great buy!

The dinosaurs are small and some not very detailed yet amazing for car trips and are easy to take places
