Best reel that I have ever used and the proof is the fact that in the past three days I have landed six beautiful salmon in the waters of the San Juan Islands. The drag is sensitive but reliable, the grip on the handle fits my large fingers, the gear ratio is perfect for playing the fish before netting, and the tension necessary for trolling deep is there. I highly recommend this reel to all my fishing colleagues in this area of Washington State.

Will never go to anything else best reel I have ever used smooth drag great line capacity and feather light for size if you can find all of this for a cheaper price than let me know no really let me know

Have not fished with it yet. However operation seemed very smooth while spooling line on it. This is replacing a Shimano 400 which gave out after 18 years of flawless operation. Was not happy with Shimano response about repairing my 400 Calcutta though.

This reel is the new standard for level wind reels. I replaced an old Penn 209 with this reel and I can't be more pleased. The reel is incredibly smooth. The drag is easy to adjust and changes in very smooth and consistent amounts.
