Excellent vacuum blender. Get this and not the super expensive ones!
I've been using this blender daily for months now, and I'm very happy with it. It works exactly as advertised and makes much better, denser smoothies than a regular blender with less oxidation of the produce. Because it sucks all (or practically all) of the air out before blending, it can blend for longer while doing less damage to the contents. Operating it simpler than a regular blender. You just fill it up, put on the lid, clamp it into the base, set the buttons, and let it run. You don't have to hold the lid down while it runs because the vacuum system does that for you, so you can just let it run for the 2 minutes and then come back when you're ready, release the seal on the lid by pressing the button in the center, and have a very smooth smoothie or whatever else you made. I have not noticed any problems with the smoothie being heated up, either. There are very expensive vacuum blenders out there such as the Void systems blender and lids ($300-$400), but this overall has worked much better for me and is much easier to clean and maintain. One quick note on the negative reviews that mentioned a piece of the cap and the spring behind it falling into the blender: those initially put me off to buying the Oster, but I eventually gave it a try anyway, and I immediately checked mine for any looseness there. The piece in question is the underside of the mechanism that allows you to release the vacuum seal to remove the lid after the vacuum has been pulled, and what I believe is happening for the people who have had this problem is that they aren't periodically checking to make sure that this piece, which can be unscrewed for cleaning, is tight enough. Crucially, this piece is unusual in that it screws on backwards (righty-loosey, lefty-tighty) compared to most screw-in pieces. Just check that before you blend, and you should be fine!

Watch out for the underside of the lid falling in!
It worked great at first. I liked the vacuum seal feature very much, but only used it a handful of times when the underside of the lid unscrewed itself free (probably from the vibrations during blending?) and dropped into the blender while it was operating. It is a bad design flaw that should have been foreseeable on product testing. Thus, it was dented and damaged by the blades to the point that it would no longer hold a vacuum seal through the gaps when I tried to reassemble it in place. I tried to contact the seller, but didn't hear back. Apparently Rufus mentioned a5 year warranty and I'm only part way into it, but I have yet to be offered a resolution by Oster, though I have contacted them. For those who are concerned about micro or nano plastics, you may want to know that the blender "jar" is made of plastic, so if any abrasion occurs from blending hard objects (like ice?) id be concerned about the bits whirling into our food to be consumed. I hope Oster's design team can consider providing a metal or glass jar to replace the plastic one?

Highly impressed With this blender
I have used many Oster products over the years and was always pleased with the quality. I have been juicing and making smoothies for a very long time, and previously purchased a vacuum blender on this site some years ago. This I like so much better, it is easy to use, and I am happy with the material and size. As far as the noise level, I usually have to use ear plugs with my Vitamix which cost so much more. I received this today and after cleaning, I was ready to try it out, and it did not disappoint. The ease of use, the creaminess of the green drink and the amazing color, which I have never experienced before, makes me more anxious to use it on a daily basis. I did not get any of the foam produced by the other blenders including the Vitamix. I heard about this blender from a gentleman on YouTube some time ago, and when I came here to look for it, it was not available. Thank you, AMAZON, for sending information when it came back in stock. I take excellent care of things and expect to enjoy this appliance for a long time. I will also be able to vacuum the juice from my Nama also. It fits nicely under my cabinet and Vitamix is already in storage. Happy customer!!

Something to consider…..
I have owned a vacuum blender (different brand) for many years. I bought this one as a replacement. The price is significantly less than other brands, and I was impressed that the vacuum was made by Foodsaver. That being said, it’s affordability is because they cut costs on the quality of the containers. I absolutely understand this — I didn’t want to pay more. But, I would really appreciate the option to buy replacement containers, if I break one. It would also be great if I could get additional to go cups. The base & vacuum are the highest quality. Once you read the instructions, it’s easy to use. I like that it’s smaller & quieter than my other one. It’s by far the best choice, and at the best price!!!

Doesn’t blend
Doesn’t suck ingredients down into the blades so you have to violently shake the unit. It means the buttons that would be cool useless. The vacuum is great. Too bad. I should have kept the box and returned it but I didnt think to before it was too late.

Right out of the box, the product does not work (and we got charged additional $71 for shipping to Toronto). We bought it a year ago, but our kitchen took a much longer time to complete than expected. So never used it until this week. Machine turns on, lights come on but it does NOT spin. We couldn't get it to work on either vacuum or blend mode. After 2 hours of trying, we had to throw out the quinoa grains we had soaked overnight for blending. We'll have to buy a machine from a different vendor. Amazon should stop selling this product. I see a lot of similar reviews saying it never worked!!
