I purchased this product for a forearm tattoo that would take at least 5 hours. This WORKS! I slathered it on thick like at least 1/4 inch and covered in plastic wrap for almost 2 hours. I went through stages of cold, tingly, numb and I felt myself poking it so I was a little disappointed like maybe it wasn't going to work for me. I BARELY felt that tattoo, I mean no discomfort whatsoever for almost the whole 6 hours. SOME spots I never felt anything, and a few spots maybe it wasn't as thick when I applied and I felt some pain in those areas (like the inside of my wrist). I have been getting tattoos for the last 14 years, and trust me I can take pain, but if you don't have to, why? I will NEVER get another tattoo without this stuff again. The process was so enjoyable and it didn't do anything to my artist or the drawing or the tattoo ink, and it healed fine. I will buy the numbing spray additionally next time so I can bring that with me for the spots where the gel does wear off. Game Changer!!!

I have used this product for almost every single tattoo on my body. They only ones I didn't use it on were the ones I got before I knew it existed! It's very important you follow the instructions and use as it is directed. Make the purchase! It will be worth it I assure you.

My first outline on this tattoo was the most painful experience ever. I told myself id have to find something to numb it for the color. After doing some searching I came across hush and decided to try it out. Wow, I felt nothing. Towards the end I starting feeling pain but this was about 5 hours later.

I have a large piece on my rib cage that I needed to get covered up but have been putting if off for years due to how painful I knew it would be. My artist recommended this gel before hand and it worked amazingly well! I could barely feel the needle. There were still some rough patches, but it nothing compared to the excruciating pain of the original.Here's how to use it:Two hours before your appointment, shave any hair from the area. Then wash the wash to be tattooed extremely well with soap and water. Remove any remaining oils with a wash of isopropyl alcohol. Your goal is to strip as many of the natural oils from the area as possible as these will prevent absorbtion of the lidocaine. Once the area is dry, slap this stuff on as thick as you can, you will want to use around half the bottle for a medium tattoo and the whole bottle for a large tattoo. Then immediately cover the gel with sayran or plastic wrap. Leave this on for two hours, do not remove it until you are in the chair and the tattoo artist is ready to work. From the moment air hits this gel when you remove the plastic wrap, you have about 30 minutes of good tattoo time. The numbing sensation begins to wear off after 30 minutes, so plan your session accordingly.If you follow these instructions, your tattooing experince will much more pleasant!

Seeing that your getting a tattoo, nothing is going to numb it completely. After using it in one area and not on another area I can tell you it helps your skin from not shutting down so you can go longer. It takes the edge off of the pain makes it tolerable. Your skin doesn't puff up or get super irritated. The feeling of both after tattooing I would recommend using hush for long session or ones who have very sensitive skin.

I will never get a tattoo without using Hush Gel again. You have to put it on well in advance before your tattoo. I had it on an hour and a half before my session started and by the end of my 3 hour session, I could have gone at least another 2 hours. I was really impressed by how long it lasted for me. It has to be applied generously and you let it sit on your skin. You don’t rub it in. If you follow the directions, it will forever change your tattoo sessions.

I read a few reviews, some good some not so good...... However, I loved this lotion. I had a tattoo on my rib cage, which I was told it would hurt... I put the lotion on and covered it like it said... And it was ok..... I was pleasantly shocked it did... totally numb.....never felt anything... Yes, I would totally order it again and use it again....

This product just did not work for me despite closely following the directions, which was unfortunate since I'd bought it to help reduce the pain of getting a tattoo. I know lots of other people have had it work for them, but apparently topical lidocaine at this strength just doesn't numb me as well as other forms of numbing can. At any rate, I decided to return the item, and had very prompt, courteous and helpful service from the seller.If lidocaine works well for you, I'd say don't be afraid to give this product a try. It goes on smooth and easy and doesn't feel horrible while numbing like some other products do, and a cherry on top is that it even smells nice.
