Through Time and Space We Go
Never before has a book series struck me with as much intensity, complexity, and humanity as this one. Now, I am not going to say this book is either true or false. I am going to give it a fair evaluation based on what I read in it.The basic plot is this; Upon exploring the past life time of one of her subjects, Elena, Dolores Cannon (the author) finds that Elena was a student of Nostradamus. And Nostradamus hijacks Elena, so to speak, and tells Dolores that his quatrains are too ambiguous to understand. He needs the quatrains translated in a non-ambiguous way in hopes of helping alleviate the worst of the times humanity will go through. And says he will use her subjects to translate the quatrains.A complex, intricate tale is told as Nostradamus translates the quatrains. Some of these quatrains are about, in our perspective, the past. Others are about our future. What I love about this book is that, unlike other so called prophecy books, it doesn't say "Event X will happen." It more says "Event X will happen because A, B, and C." I found this book to be very rewarding solely for explaining causes/effects in the world.Fair warning, this book is very negative and is not for the faint of heart. Nostradamus wanted to give us the worst case scenario. The reason is that Nostradamus, in the first book, told Dolores that he has no worries about us surviving the good times. He wants us to survive the worst of times. This book can be considered scientific because some parts in it are falsifiable. Some events are said to definitely happen no matter what. Such as the antichrist coming, destruction of the Vatican, and the great genius. So, when we see the Vatican is still standing two popes after the current Pope Benedict, we can definitely go back and call this book bull. Until then, just cross your fingers and hope the book is wrong. Because, if it proves to be accurate, we are in for a rough ride.It got a lot of things wrong, but it also got a lot of things right. Considering other prophecy books have a record of getting nothing right, a book that gets many things right is remarkable in itself. Here are some other things about the book you need to know (especially for readers who have already read this):1) Dates are secondary to causes and effects. Whenever Dolores tries to get a date out of Nostradamus, which he hesitantly gives, it usually is wrong. Scientists tell people that the volcano might erupt by a certain date. And, when it doesn't, this doesn't make scientists' warnings any less valid. So, for those who denounce this book as incorrect based on the wrong dates; yes the date was wrong but the fact the volcano is nearing eruption is not. One can only give an estimate at best.2) For those wondering why such a person as the antichrist hasn't shown up, recall that it was said this person would work secretly in local/regional politics building a "base of power". So, yes, this person would come into power in the 90s, but only on a local/regional level. According to the book, once the Catholic church has the final pope (aka "the tool of the antichrist"), only then would this antichrist get rid of the secrecy aspect. According to the book, we are now in the process of electing what is considered "the final pope".So, of course this person would not appear yet. The timeline is off. With at least three dictators in the middle east recently overthrown, there is now a void of power. Believe me, if there was a time for an antichrist to move from local politics into national politics, it would be now. Oh, and now that the United States withdrew troops from Iraq, there is another void. I bet you a negative person is going to take advantage of that, antichrist or not.3) Pope John Paul II was said to be assassinated in this book. No, he was never assassinated but there were certainly many assassination attempts on him. John Paul II obviously had information ahead of time or survived from sheer luck (the 1995 incident). In volume III, Nostradamus shared that he didn't feel as strongly as he did before about the pope being assassinated. So that got turned it from a definite thing to a probable thing. Of course, the pope's survival into the early 2000s instead of dying in the 1980s/1990s definitely would have delayed the course of events by another two decades.Of course, let's not forget the other predictions that time proved to be correct in this trilogy series.4) "There is to be another shuttle disaster. Again there will be loss of life due to an explosion of the launch vehicle." (Volume III pg. 309)This refers to the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster which occurred on February 1, 2003. Also, the space shuttle program finished with its last mission, STS-135 and Atlantis, which came to a conclusion on July 21, 2011, retiring the final shuttle in the fleet and the program. With the retirement of the space shuttle program, there is no possible way that a third or more space shuttle disaster could occur. Therefore, this prophecy was fulfilled.5) "I saw the sky, and then I was looking down on the Middle East area...I see this as a revolution. Unrest in one country that leads to others. It starts off slowly and snowballs. It is in the Middle East." (Volume III pg. 174)This has to refer to the Tunisian Revolution that has spread to other Arab nations in 2011. This, in turn, lead to the Arab Spring revolution. When I saw Tunisians protesting and revolting, I used this part of the book to predict a larger revolution. And I was disturbed when I was right.6) Of course, as others have pointed out, the hung jury elections in 2000 were another accurate prediction.(Added 3/27/2012) These are future predictions that the book says will happen. A lot of these are pertaining to RIGHT NOW which is why I put them in here. I will add more in the future:7) "I saw that the United States government will not solve its deficit problem. It is beyond control now and it will continue to snowball." (Volume III pg. 185)8)Goddess worship will start to increase. (Volume II or III)9)"The tomb is in Rome amongst the layers and layers of archaeological ruins underneath the present-day buildings...this Roman was a famous philosopher and he theorized about all things. He is mainly known for his philosophy and his discourses on the nature of things...archeologists will know who he is and what he did. That is why they called him the great Roman. He says when that happens and a pope is elected immediately after, it will be a clear sign. It won't be necessarily the very next day. That is symbolic of a very short time after the discovery of that tomb." (Volume III)As Pope Benedict is retiring, the above refers to the succession to the next pope after him so it pertains to RIGHT NOW. If this is true, we should see some type of major discovery like the above at least a day before February 28th-March 31st when the process of electing the next pope is being made. Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson from the African country Ghana is among the most favored cardinal to become pope in the current elections. However, Peter Turkson does not fit all the characteristics (such as not being from France in the book said there would be a strong chance he would be. Although Ghana was a former colony of Europe so it does have those ties). He also does not have blue eyes but he does have a "swarthy complexion" as the book states. Maybe he was wearing blue-eyed contact lenses? In fact, he's one of the few popes with that "swarthy" complexion since the early colonialism era. Also, Ghana has a sizable Muslim population which could make him more receptive toward Muslim leaders like the book's supposed Antichrist. In fact, Peter Turkson is the only papal contender that I know of that isn't recorded saying something that intensely ticks off Muslims. Could show an affinity that could make him useful in being the Muslim "antichrist's tool" (strictly according to the book).Peter Turkson also has an interest in finances, as the book claims, and recently, "elaborated a proposal to reform the international financial system by creating a Global Public Authority and a Global Bank that consider the interest of all developing countries. The document of 40 pages was officially presented in October 2011 and criticizes the current structure of International Monetary Fund and other institutions.." Hmm, in Conversations with Nostradamus, the last pope also was said to have an interest in finances and world banking. In fact, the Antichrist would use a world bank to bring economic ruin to countries, making them easier to invade. Could Peter Turkson unknowingly be the tool of the antichrist by being influential in creating a world bank?I will add more as time goes on.

Learned a lot about what the future holds.
I'm familiar with others of Dorothy Cannon's books and how she attains her information through hypnosis into past lives. This was so interesting, and even though it was written in the late 1980's, I can see where a lot of the information has come to pass that she didn't know about now that it is 2020. I bought the whole set, and I'm reading book II now. One thing that stood out to me was a section where he talks about meteors falling into a section of sky near the northern hemisphere around Alaska, which is caused by secret government works going on in that area, like HARRP. The other night a news story showed a meteor shower along with the northern lights, taken from photos at the space station above the earth. All the meteors entered in the northern hemisphere near Alaska. Also, a lot of the things happening since 1999 that are leading up to what he calls the "time of troubles." Nostradamus claims that he saw so far into the future that he saw the end of the earth, the end of the sun, and the end of the universe. He saw the fall of the catholic church, the Anti-Christ, and how he wants to take over the world. So many interesting things happening. I recommend this book to anyone who is fascinated by Nostradamus and his predictions.

Fascinating
I read this book many years ago It is part one of a trilogy. I keep an open mind. This is about a past life regressionist regressing clients. The clients are able to make contact with Nostradamus and the method is interesting. It also clarifies many of the quatrains that have been written about by others. He himself clarifies the meaning. He wanted this information to get out as it is pertinent ... however, many things he predicted in the time line given have not occurred as yet. The author has since passed away. My first book fell apart so I was happy to find this still available. It is the best book I have read on his teachings.

Simply amazing!
One of the most fascinating books I've read and I have read quite a few.I read "The 3 waves of volunteers" and the 4 books in the"Convoluted Universe" series and they were excellent but this takesthings to another level. The idea of communicating directly withsomeone who is alive 400+ years ago is just mind blowing.I saw some complaints about the explanations of how they got to thissituation but I find they are a very interesting and necessary partof the story. Many "small" aspects of it would appear to confirmthe authenticity of what happened but of course read and judgefor yourself. And, let us not forget that hearing these cryptic quatrains getinterpreted is fascinating in itself, something attempted bymany since his time with limited success as you will discover.

Conversations with Nostradamus Vol. 1
This is the first book in a series of 3 about Nostradamus and his life and predictions. Written by Dolores Cannon who for many years has helped people through regressive hypnosis. This is the method in which she heard from Nostradamus himself. This book explains how this came about which is fascinating in itself. He translates some of his quatrains,(prophecies) as they have been misunderstood and he wanted to let the people in his future,(us), understand what they meant. He explains some of his quatrains which have already happened and some that are happening now and some in the future. He used astrology and a "magic mirror" which he looked into. I found this book to be very believable and exciting reading. I also bought the other two books to learn more of what he had to say. Mind boggling that this type of communication has come about. Read for yourself to see what I mean.

Very good read
Even if you're a non believer, it's very interesting to read. This was my first Dolores Cannon book, but definitely won't be my last. I have 2 more on my shelf for reading next and 6 more on their way now.

Absolut lesenswert!

Conversations with Nostradamus 1
Erg goed boek. Zeer zorgvuldig samengesteld.

Recomendable
