Excellent Small Sharpener
This item has become the hit of the community pottery studio I belong to. It is high quality. Potters use small loop tools to trim excess clay off the bottom of their pots. These tools are a bit pricey, and get dull over time. I searched high and low for a sharpening stone that would fit into small spaces, with no luck. This little tool does the trick. Two of the potters in my class are also woodworkers, and they were excited to see this tool, and immediately asked to use it. Now, they are using it to help other potters who may not have sharpening skills to bring their old trim tools back to life.

Must have tool
I gave this a four-star rating because I found the stone half price at a clay supply store! Otherwise, it would have received five stars. It's great to smooth the "foot" of thrown bowls, mugs, vases, etc. Without the stone my pieces would scratch table and countertop surfaces after the final high fire firing. Usually, I find Amazon prices very competitive; not this time.

Surely every potter uses these!
Even as a novice potter I couldn’t get by without these. They smooth those little rough spots that appear after the first firing right down.
