Nice detailed book about goldendoodles.Goes through everything from choosing a breeder to having an older dog.My family is new to the goldendoodle breed, so I've done lots of research.Our puppy is almost two weeks old, so we have six more weeks until we get to bring him home! We can't wait!My only con is I wish the pictures were in color.

I had done a lot of Golden Doodle research from blogs, articles, and "interviews" with friends and neighbors before getting this book in anticipation of getting my new pup and this book pretty much aligns with everything I've heard. I think the reviews saying it is very simplistic are absolutely correct! But its the simple things that are often times the most important. I think the author also includes many things that I certainly didn't consider/ didn't immediately come to the conclusion of and I find that educational as well. I think the author perfectly balances "facts", although most of his "facts" come from interviews with dog breeders so as to how much science is involved I'm not too sure, with personal account. I think experience is honestly more important than the science behind raising a puppy because happiness can't be explained by science! I'm reading it right now in between sleepless intermittent potty breaks during my pup's first couple nights home! I'll do you one up, Amazon and say I give it a 10/10 review! Excellent, easy, and educational read!

Dog did not work out.

This book is very general and is good if you're getting any dog and need some pointers. It is barely specific to the behaviors and characteristics specific to a Goldendoodle. Will it work if you want to know basics for dog care?- Yes. It will not help you really know a Goldendoodle too specifically. I'm a dog trainer and was hoping for more.

This was amazing! so grateful I invested in this book. Already I'm a person that enjoys reading and applying the learned knowledge to action. The information that is presented in this book allows you to get a full understanding of your puppy that is on the way. It ensures that the owner of the puppy has more than a decent amount of information on handling the puppy, with adequate resources on ensuring that you can raise your puppy with an ideal model. From grooming, to house breaking, to training, feeding, and most importantly, getting the puppy acclimated to you becoming a loyal companion forever.

While much of the information in the book would apply to any dog, there is still quite a bit of information that is directly related to this breed. Growing up with dogs and having one as an adult, I still found it very informative in helping us prepare to become goldendoodle pet guardians. If you are new to being a pet parent, highly recommend this book and/or any similar to get a good understanding of what you need to know.
