This K03 Turbocharger is a direct replacement for the original turbo found on the 1996-2004 Audi A4 and 1998-2005 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T engines. This turbocharger is not meant as an upgrade for the factory unit. It is offered as a solution for a turbocharger that is beyond repair and needs replacement at an affordable price. The K03 turbocharger is designed to be used on engines displacing 1.3L-2.0L and is typically good for around 250HP. Recommended boost pressures are 7psi(.5 Bar) to 21psi(1.5 Bar) and boost pressures should not exceed 30psi(2 Bar). Exceeding 21psi(1.5 Bar) of boost pressure can significantly reduce a turbochargers lifespan. Online buy I by buying of auto parts might not be a good idea !
Beware of buying auto parts online ! We bought the Turbo in Feb but did not install right away because my son who is a certified mechanic was overhauling the motor and had not reach that part of the motor . When he did it was "past " the return date .The part was defective and the 115.00 is nonrefundable since it had been 30 days.A lot of money during this National crisis . Had we purchased the parts from our local auto parts store a year warranty is given automatically with no additional fee and an option to extend for a small fee . I purchase a lot from Amazon but I will think twice before I purchase auto parts again .
