101 Great Illustrators from the Golden Age, 1890-1925

Love ink drawings and this is great for reference, inspiration and history of the subject, this is what to inspire to if you are a hobbyist, or professional artist in this genre.

This is a great survey of Golden age iillustrators, mostly from the US and Britain. The greats are mostly there (except when still in copyright) but the real strength showing some less familiar but excellent illustrators modern reader may not be familiar with. There is a short bio of each illustrator, and some of the bios are as interesting as the artist's work! It's a good quality softbound book, color and page quality is very good. Only con: a lot of times the illustration has no caption or description -some like mother goose are easy to figure out, others are not.

Fabulous book. Exactly what I was looking for in regards to illustrations and their illustrators during this period. This is a great reference book for me. Looking for an earlier and later time period now!

I collect children's illustrated books from this time period, andI Ive been looking for a book like this for a very long time. Thrilled by its scope, and by the inclusion of many illustrators I didn't know about, which brings me to a problem - none of the photos gave a caption telling me what publication each one came from!! I guess I need to google each artist and see if I can find images and learn that way, but i am disappointed that these were not already included. That being said, it is a wonderful reference and starting point for anyone interested in these illustrators.

Star studded, with the one regret: There should be a hard-back option, all there is is paperback.
