Good dog food for senior dogs. This was recommended for my two chihuahuas who are both 13 years old. They weight 10 lbs so a large bag lasts a while. Hoping this healthy mix extends their life time a bit.

We’ve been re ordering this dog food for about a year. Our senior dog is rather picky but tends to eat this one well. No issues with digestion, he likes the taste. It’s a good amount for the price

This product has been amazing for my German Shepherd. She is 10 now but has been eating this food since she was 7. The ingredients have been wonderful for her digestion and coat. The package always arrives without damage. No holes, food is never stale and never poor quality. The smell is a bit different than non-senior dog food but it isn’t unpleasant. I would highly recommend for any senior dog owner.

Good value dogs love but not so great ingredients

This dog food may be from Purina, but my vet says Purina is one of the good brands; they test their ingredients and foods well for palatability and purity of ingredients. Your dogs will do well on Purina, my vet says. So... I switched to Purina Senior food as my dogs are getting older. They really liked the switch. Food time is a great time of day. It is good to know that this food really IS Vet approved.

Due to the pandemic we needed to cut costs in a lot of ways including pricey dog food. My three senior/special needs dogs were eating Blue Buffalo for years but to save money we switched to this. The ingredients are very similar, the first ingredient is real meat. Well, to be perfectly honest this dog food has been BETTER than the Blue Buffalo. My dogs love the taste more, especially the chewy meat morsels, their coats are more shiny, they are more active. We also have a Beagle with a thyroid disorder who needs to lose weight. While the Blue Buffalo was about 25 calories less, she actually lost weight and met her goal on this in just 2 months! (Perhaps because she’s moving more and feeling better on this food)I work in the veterinary field. Typically we recommend fancier foods or vet prescription foods. Well this one is just as good if you’re on a budget!Highly recommend for dogs over 9 or even dogs with arthritis as it has glucosamine or for dogs who might need to shed a few pounds, just feed them the recommended amount on the label!
