The Art of DOOM: Eternal

The edges and upper spine seemed to have gotten bent a little and the inner corners were slightly torn, but other than that the book is in almost pristine condition. Beautiful concept art of the characters, environments, weapons, and multiplayer stuff split up into their respective chapters.

There were alternative concepts for different characters that were really cool. The book is of great quality. One nitpick I do have is that they don't talk much about the design process for different characters or locations. The texts are mainly lifted from the game's codex, which is disappointing if you're looking for new lore or design insights for the game. Overall I highly recommend this book, especially for Doom fans.

Fun game. Great graphics

This book showcases the amazing talent of the artists at Id software, the book is well built and has big pages.

They went above and beyond with the delivery, having just shown up 2-3 days before the estimated delivery dates. Though the plastic seal wrap was ripped when I opened the package, the book itself appears to be in top shape. And I couldn't be happier. This is money well spent. (I just noticed that little dent on the book's spine, but so far, that's about it.)

The art direction in Doom Eternal surprised me in all the best ways. Its mix of Hellish imagery, heavy metal album covers, ancient cultures, high-tech, all wrapped up in a delightfully macabre bow was genuinely refreshing and was a feast for the eyes. So naturally, I ordered the artbook. For the most part, the book doesn't disappoint. You get to see many gorgeous paintings and high quality renders of characters and environments from the game, packed densely but well organized, making it a worthy book to have to really immerse yourself in the visually rich world of Doom Eternal. Unfortunately, the book lacks commentary on the development and art direction in favor of little text snippets copied from the game's codex. A big reason I enjoy art and development art books is for the commentary about why certain decisions were made. Being an artist myself, the commentary helps me get inside the minds of the creators and adds another layer of appreciation for the craft and the work put into each and every asset. This is the only thing that brought the book down to a 4 for me. Otherwise, the book is fantastic and high quality. Absolutely worth getting if you want more of Doom Eternal's art.

Came quickly in the mail and the art didn't disappoint. Been paging through this book quite often especially with the pandemic still going on. Shame it came damaged for some. Overall, a great addition to my book collection.

Stunning characters designs along with environment concepts.

Artbook BELLISSIMO. Bel formato, ottima rilegatura, ottima carta, ottima stampa, splendide illustrazioni,...ma tra tutte, mancano proprio quelle di alcuni demoni iconici come il Cacodemone, l'Imp, e il Pinky!!! (...e di altri ancora) Piccola amarezza a parte, le illustrazioni presenti sono tutte realizzate in digitale e ci sono anche alcuni focus sui modelli 3D usati per i modelli di gioco. I testi sono pochi e in inglese. Non rivelano molto di più di quello che è riportato sui vari codex del gioco, ma di sicuro a parlare sono i disegni, i vari sketch di alcune delle idee scartate o dei processi per arrivare al design definitivo dei vari mostri, protagonisti, ambientazioni e armi. Unico appunto, arei gradito se le illustrazioni che fanno da sfondo alle introduzioni dei vari capitoli fossero state riproposte anche senza testo, che ci fossero quelle di tutti i demoni che compaiono nel gioco, e magari anche qualche intervista o qualcosa del genere
