Best book on using the pentatonic scale
I have read many many books hoping for a clear explanation I could understand - this one works. I am working my way through it and it is brilliant in explaining this stuff and making it then work for you as a guitarist.

really really great
Before I bore you with how I'm using this book, let me just say that it's really, really great. I've learned and forgotten the pentatonic boxes before, never really used them to a point where I could improvise with them, which is why I lost interest and went back to just learning songs over youtube a couple years ago. What I needed was a structured way to practice beyond just going up and down the scales a bunch of times until I could do so quickly. To that end, I got this book, a kitchen timer, and a metronome. The kitchen timer helps because it has this constant ticking clock sound in the background that helps my ADD/OCD brain stay on point and not wander. The metronome helps make the transitions smooth and consistent. But I've used stopwatches and metronomes before without making as much progress. The main ingredient here, and the reason why I'm suddenly no longer stagnating, has to do with the exercises themselves. They're boring and short, but spending fifteen minutes on each one has made a difference for me.The end result is, the scales I couldn't remember (much less use) two weeks ago are committed to muscle memory now, AND I'm finding it easier to play around with them melodically. This has been a huge stride forward for me, and I'm planning on picking up another one of Troy Nelson's 14-day books soon.

Cannot access the audio tracks
Cannot access the audio tracks using the kindle app on my ipad. Could be a problem from my side, but should be as easy as clicking a button.
