Not really that happy with the product
Not really that happy with the product. Looks like a very hurried job. Assembled, then slathered with paint, which ran thru the holes used for stitching. The cover itself is only a thick vellum (paper) made from scraped goat or sheep skin. Paint smudges on the inside of both covers as well as the first and last pages and the top corners of the pages of the entire book. Plan on using some fine sandpaper to gently "erase" all the mess.mIf it were about 5 bucks less expensive I would purchase another because it's a great size and has good paper pages.

Great size if you like to keep journals on hand
Cover a little stiff, but this journal is very well made. A great gift for writers who like to keep journals on them; the size is perfect.

Looks hand crafted, rustic. The way my two were packaged clasps left inditations and scratches on alternate journal. Still interesting and may take on nice worn look.

It was my daughter Christmas present and she loved it

Disappointed again by SouvNear.
This was the second item that I have had to return to SouNear; the other item was a journal as well. This one was slightly better but was damaged. The leather back of journal had been marked, where it had, obviously, been packed too tightly against another journal and the fastener had marked it. Also, some of the pages inside were torn. As this was meant as a gift I returned it. The leather was better quality than that of my first purchase from SouvNear and the lock was solid, hence the two stars.
