NEOGEO X Mega Pack Vol 1

It is too bad some people can't update their systems with the firmware update, but it stinks even worse that they have to come on here and cry about it and give poor review scores. I think there is a difference between thinking you're doing something right and actually doing it right. I think half of the cases could be solved by people holding in the start button like they should! Just get a new system and review it with everything working properly. Anyway, my update froze halfway through. I restarted it and it updated just fine. I never checked my firmware before doing it, just took a chance I guess. I feel this product improves an already great one. Still a little too many fighting games for me. Top Hunter, Blazing Star, Shock Troopers, and Metal Slug 2 make up for it, though. Game save functionality is one thing I've wanted for a while now, and it was worth the wait. I think the update made the colors sharper, but I never had a problem with the color to begin with, or the sound for that matter. The control seems a little more responsive too. But again, didn't have an issue before. The packaging was well thought out and executed. I didn't expect to be able to store the handheld in the case. That was a nice surprise! Everything about what Tommo has done with the Neo Geo X has a great retro feel. Keep it coming!

Good Luck trying to get this to work. I have the Neo Geo X version 370 and tried many times to update the firmware. The process to update the firmware is ridiculous as well as you need to plug in adaptors, hold buttons, etc. Just get a blank screen and Tommo Customer Service is not responding to any inquiries. I'm sure if the games actually worked it would be great. Purchase at your own discretion and wait until Tommo fixes the product before buying this defective unit. The retro packaging is a great idea and like the quality of the manual. BUT if the actual product does not work its worthless junk.

first of all, the packaging was great, very very carefully packed to make sure the plastic box is safe, and what a box it is, shaped like an original neo geo box, inside are some amazing goodies, and u can also use it to hold ur handheld.inside were the rocket cradle so u can charge ur handheld alone, a mem card with the 15 awesome games, and the most awesome item ever, a small book with original artwork in it of the games and amazing stickers, this was an amazing bonus.update was smooth as silk and the games are great and the box looks amazing on my shelf, i wish a second one comes out.

Some Neo Geo X ( V.337 only ? ) will not work after the update, as there is a bug in the update 5.00Tommo knows about the bug already and working on it ( check the Neo Geo X Website, Facebook )By the way, For those using the modded Sd X Adapter - will not work after the updated as well.anyway, poor testing Tommo - a huge box with questionable Update, and 15 Games ( a mix of great games and some poor classics ) and an adapter that should been included with the system fist place.

Thankfully I own a NeogeoX v.370. I had no problems updating. However, I can’t ignore the fact that some owners with v.337’s are being left out. What was Tommo doing during the lengthy delays?It’s a shame because the Megapack did a lot of things right. It still doesn’t make the NGX the best NeoGeo experience outside of the original AES/MVS, but what’s there is serviceable.The HDMI output has been greatly improved. Everything is clearer and vibrant and now fits the screen correctly. Unfortunately the same thing cannot be said for the composite output. It’s now degraded to the point of being unusable. I will begrudgingly take the tradeoff but why can’t both outputs be viable? Again, did Tommo do any QA testing during the delays?The audio has been noticeably improved. It just seems clearer and louder to me.The biggest addition is the game saving feature. You can now save your season in Baseball Stars 2, save your bowler in League Bowling, or start where you left off with a new set of credits for most of the NGX games. The NGX emulates the actual AES/MVS memory card so it functions the same way. To enable it, you have to format the virtual memory card. You can do this by pressing all 4 face buttons while the game is loading after you press A. The memory card menu should come up and you need to select Card Format. This will have to be done initially for each game but only once.All in all it’s just an OK product. There are just too many issues still to make the NeoGeoX recommendable to anyone. Also, I feel the update should be available to everyone who owns the NeoGeoX. Everyone should be able to enjoy the improvements without having to buy anything else.
