it does well for its' intended purpose and s a good handy tool
Product is as expected and compares favorably with one I purchased many years ago. Used correctly,it does well for its' intended purpose and s a good handy tool. When making an inquiry using info on the accompanying info card, I found that Berger was bought by a power tool company..Unfortunately on that day it seems no one available new anything about this handy tool . My Question was about the stria lines and whether there was a constant multiplier for the stria lines. The representative was very polite but new nothing of which I spoke..

worth the money if you need to do a rough slope survey
Though basically no instructions came with it, I did find some very helpful notes on line. I needed to determine the slope for a few potential maple tubing runs. basically you need to determine the distance from your feet to your eye. Then, from the bottom of your hill, identify a spot on your slope where the bubble is level in the scope. Next, counting your paces, walk up your slope to that spot. Then it is simply rise over run. So if it is 5 feet to your eye and 50 feet of pacing, then it is a 10% slope segment. (5/50 X 100). repeat over and over until you reach the top then take an average. I checked it against my altimeter and it was good enough for me! Hope to use it to teach my granchildren about rise over run someday!

Never Leaving the Office without It!
Needed a hand device for scoping out site projects during their conceptualization phase - you know, can this be done? Convinced a skeptical co-worker of its usefulness and now we ponder "what life would have been" were we to have had the level sooner.Instructions are pitiful but I'm guessing the manufacturer thinks those purchasing already are familiar with proper use.

Does The Job
It might not be the best hand level out there, but it does the job. Can't do better for the price. Does have problems with the front lens getting scratched.

I had to adjust the level as it was not ...
I had to adjust the level as it was not properly adjusted when received. I can't complain to much for the money spent.

doesn't work if you wear glasses
You look thru a pin-hole to get the sighting, but you can't see thru the pinhole if you wear glasses. If you take your glasses off then you can see thru, but if you're near-sighted like me then you won't be able to see very far in the distance to tell what you're sighting.

sight level
The DavidWhite pocket sight-level is the handiest tool for carpentry, masonry, and general excavation and construction. Without any set-up or tuning, it gives the user a fast and accurate way of determining point of level at a distance. I have used one many times for sighting level from distances of 10' to 350' and have had good results in every instance. For the price, it's one of the best gadgets in your tool box.
