Size large
Great collar, we bought one for our GSD as she suffers from allergies, so we needed to keep her from biting at herself! She’s very comfortable wearing it and has stopped her biting herself

Reasonable quality but didn't quite work
Bought this collar (XL size) for my Newfoundland who repeatedly washes himself, gnaws at his lower legs/feet and now has a very sore flank. Whilst the quality is reasonable and it appears to fit well and reasonably comfy he can somehow reach the wounded areas, rendering it fairly useless. This does appear to be an issue with larger sized dogs so the collar may be much more effective with smaller breeds.

Measure correctly as sizing may differ
Purchased size XL for GSD x breed boy. Note Slender dogs with long snouts need a bully collar. Easy to blow up with electric pump and closure also ease of collar round loops on doughnut He could still reach his wound. Other than that the collar appeared to give him some comfort on his second day from op but only in my presence as he was spotted licking wound!? Any larger I think would not fit him so resorted back to the plastic cone of shame with constant ramming on back of my legs and creasing to point of splitting and needing support from duct tape! He did actually like the cushion but then once out of full effects from anaesthesia he decided he wanted to wreck - play with it. No!

Great alternative to the “cone of shame”
Lovely alternative to the dreaded “cone of shame”. My dog recently had an op and I wanted to make sure he was as comfy as possible during a long recovery. This was a great buy - although I brought the wrong one by mistake, this is almost identical, cheaper and just as effective as the one I intended to buy. Pros: - lovely and soft (no scratches to furniture from the stiff plastic of normal cones etc) - seems robust/ thick material , with a fabric type cover, not just plastic. Still washable. - comfortable for sleeping - dog can see and move more freely (the old cone would restrict his field of vision and he would catch the cone on door frames etc- the donut just acted as a cushion)! - easier to fit dog into a crate than trying to allow him to turn around wearing a regular cone., - neck sizing was good. Simple but effective/ strong Velcro fastening. Hasn’t managed to pull it over his head/ take it off. Cons: - the diameter of the donut is quite small. My dog is long with long legs so he could still reach the wound on his knee if he wanted to. The donut did seem to act as a deterrent though. Would be perfect for neuter, torso or hip surgery/ injuries. - blowing it up was a bit of a struggle. You have to bite hard onto the inner/ wider part of the value to get it to open. Fine once you know. Otherwise you look a bit of a plonker at the vet not being able to inflate it! Test before you need it! - not really a con, but I liked the shark design. But it has ‘fins’ on the side. I though these might be too tempting for my other dog- and his recovery wouldn’t be helped by having her swinging from them as he hobbled by.

Perfect for a spayed small dog
This recovery collar worked perfectly for my Shiba Inu after spay surgery. The adjustable Velcro makes it easy to put on, remove, and readjust for meals. My dog was comfortable enough to sleep in it, and it could even double as a small travel pillow for me for car rides! One limitation: this style may not protect wounds located below the belly. For upper-body surgeries like spay/neuter it is very effective. Overall, a well-designed, comfortable alternative to a plastic cone that keeps dogs calm and mobile during recovery. Recommended for pets with upper-body surgeries

Good…but..
My dog much prefers it to the cone given by vets but it doesn’t prevent him from reaching his wound on his back leg (broken femur bone :( ) It’s good for during the day and super comfy for them but I personally would only use when you can keep watch of what they are doing.
