Mysore Hiriyanna's writings are the gold standard on whatever he wrote. And the Art Experience is one of his best works. Must read essays here include the two-part Art Experience, Indian Aesthetics (this is an excellent introduction to the topic), What to Expect of Poetry, etc. Such clear and concise exposition is rarely found in today's writings by literary critics and aestheticians.
