So Versatile – Perfect for Shaker Bookmarks & So Much More
I originally purchased this to seal shaker bookmarks for my small business, and wow—this tool is amazing. It works exactly as intended and creates clean, strong seals every time. The quality of the tool itself feels solid and well made, and it’s very easy to use, even if you’re newer to crafting. I quickly realized this isn’t just for one project—there are so many different creative uses for it beyond bookmarks. It saves time, gives professional-looking results, and has definitely expanded what I’m able to make. For crafters or small business owners, this is a great value and a tool you’ll reach for ofte

Hot customer service!
Customer Service read my note and sent me a brand new one. I took a while for me to test it, but this new one is working beautifully, and sealing my pockets exactly as expected. Apparently, I got a defective one. The temperature doesn’t fluctuate and it seals scrapbooking plastics perfectly. I no longer feel it needs temperature control because it’s the right temperature, and doesn’t get dangerously hot or shut off. I’ll leave my old review below because I feel like it’s cheating to remove, but I take it all back. The fuse is s tool you need in your crafting arsenal and it is handy to create and seal pockets in scrapbooks. Love it, and love the responsive CS more. Great company. **** This is a pain in the rear to use. The holder thing doesn't hold it very well, and at the smallest bump and you are at risk of a burning hot piece of metal falling into your work surface. Second, there are no temperature controls, so I either burn through my project or can't get a seal. I've tried all sorts of different plastics and it's very hard to get one that works right. I was making some sand and shell mini-beaches, and I had to plug it in, wait ten minutes for it to heat up, use it swiftly to seal, pour the stuff in, seal the remaining opening just hoping it didn't melt a hole (which it did most time), then unplug it so it doesn't get too hot to burn, cool it down again and start all over on the next one. It's a lot of work and stress to seal some sequins in a pocket. Still, I WANT to seal sequins in a pocket so I keep trying. But I hope the good people at WRMK are reading this and decide to design a new one that has a temperature control. We also we need some instructions on which brand of sheet protectors and plastics will actually seal without melting. I've seen people successful with sandwich baggies, and I can't seem to be successful with a Becky Higgins pocket page. I don't know if everybody who is making this works has some special crafty magic, or mine is defective. It definitely doesn't seem to hold a steady temperature. It's a good idea for a product but it needs some work. Maybe I'll go check out the wood burning tools people keep talking about.

Amazing tool for Project Lifers - lives up to the hype!!
This tool is amazing - it does exactly what it's advertised to do, and does it well. It's not hard to learn how - after 2 practice runs I was able to seal up several page protectors in all kinds of complex configurations. I just decided to switch to 8.5x11 pages for my Project Life albums, and there aren't many page protectors for this size that fit the standard PL cards. Now I can create my own, or modify the 12x12 pages I already have to fit!! Super exciting. I'd recommend using a glass cutting mat because it's hard (and heat-resistant) and the "wheel" of the fusing tip slides nicely over a hard surface. My cutting mat has a grid pattern on it which is very helpful to line up the page protector and ruler stencil so the seams are straight. The tool gets VERY hot, so be careful. It's a lot lighter than I expected, so you also need to be careful that the weight of the cord doesn't pull the tool somewhere you don't want it to go (like your arm!). Use the little stand provided - that helps, but it's still somewhat flimsy. It does take some time to heat up completely - 10 minutes or so. I was too excited when I first unboxed it, and let it heat for about 4 minutes and that wasn't long enough to seal the plastic. Be patient and wait, and you will be rewarded by nice clean strong seams :) It works well on both the American Crafts and Becky Higgins Project Life page protectors. If you want a really good, strong seam, you can seal the seam on both sides. I have used it with a metal ruler instead of the short ruler stencil for longer seams and it works, but the stencil is definitely easier as it has a "groove" to keep the tool in place. My wish list: a place to store the tips *with* the tool itself as they are tiny, and a longer ruler stencil (12" would be dreamy). I'd also like the option to buy some of the wider fusing tips I've seen (the HSN bundle seems to have multiple-width tips).

Works perfect, but don't lose any parts. They don't sell them separately.
Great tool. Works perfectly on the photo sleeves I had. Easy to use and good for it size. Invaluable as I don't have to keep buying different sleeves for my Kpop album inclusions. Just buy one full page sleeve and fuse it how I see fit. My only issue is that I lost the ruler. I contacted customer support to buy another ruler, but they did not have one (They do not sell them separately). I had to find another from another store, but could not find one. Eventually, I just bought a metal ruler and it worked find. I did not want to buy another fuser just for the ruler (I lost the stand too, but I'm fine).

Awesome product!
Wow, something to make shaker cards quick and easy! I love that I can use it to make any shape I want and that it adds a very small amount of bulk to the card and envelope. What used to be a pain-in-the tush for making AND mailing is now simple and easy to do. I watched a couple of videos I found on You-Tube for exactly how to use it and/or to obtain some 'tips' and that really helped, also. I no longer scrapbook, but if I did, this would also be fun and handy. Note: the metal gets very hot (like a glue gun) and can burn easily. Keep away from kids. Let it cool completely before storing. It does take about 8 to 10 minutes to heat up, but during that time you can be getting your project ready! The only negative I would have would be that the pocket full of shaker stuff (glitter, beads, etc.) is "flat" so it doesn't shake as easy as the normal shaker card you make using foam tape. Still, for the benefits, I think that's only a very minor flaw. As an experiment, the next time I might try to blow a little bit of air into the pocket (maybe use a small straw like a coffee stirrer) before it seals to see what happens. Highly recommend and for the price, creativity, convenience, and less bulk, it's well worth it.

Wheel doesn’t spin well
It’s not great for what I wanted it for: I bought this tool to scrapbook based off the spinning wheel that’d create a dotted line. I considered buying a wood burning tool with more nibs, but this was the tool with the wheel and I wanted the look of even melted spots. Well the wheel doesn’t spin well, it frequently sticks creating patches of no melt or long continuous melts. I’ve tried multiple times using it now and it’s a consistent issue, so I just use the other nib (a fine point) instead. This works fine, it just defeats the original purpose of purchasing the item. I wish the wheel attachment worked better it’s exactly the tool I wanted.

learning curve, but all tools need learning curves-- it's freaking awesome
i have a bagillion protector sheets, and as i've caught the shaker card bug, and with all the awesome videos on christmas cards i knew i wanted to make shaker christmas/holiday cards this year, so i took the plunge and bought this little gadget! i also have the materials to make the non gadget way of shaker cards but this has made it all the more easier!!!!!!!!! ok get your scrap plastics, ready, so that you can practice as others have stated, pressure will have to be adjusted and the rate at which you move the tool needs to also be adjusted. in less then 2 hours i made 30 a2 sized pockets for my shaker cards. I think that is pretty awesome for a first timer. yes some edges aren't super perfect but it's fused and won't open accidentally. i've used 2 different types of pocket protectors and different plastic packages that my stamps came in. worked perfect! i've left it on for several hours and even at the 2 hour mark it was perfect. i've heard varying warming up times, I normally leave it sitting about 20 min before using. all in all, an excellent buy! for shaker card ideas if you don't know what these are check out my favorite card crafters: k werner designs prairie paper & ink jennifer mcguire
