Super product, I ordered clear but received yellow...don't hesitate
In case you're really picky, I did order the clear Lexan version and received a yellow model, so it's no guarantee of your color choice. It's ugly, but it works so well who cares? Here's the review:I just acquired a Ruger 22/45, and the magazines are really hard to load. To make it worse, the edges at the top of the mag are very sharp, and trying to load the in the traditional manner almost cut my thumb open. I managed the first day out with a pair of gloves, and when I got home the McFadden .22 loader was on my doorstep. The instructions are very easy to follow.Step 1) Slide the loader lid openStep 2) Dump a bunch of .22 rounds loosely into the topStep 3) Slide the loader lid closed, and gently shake the loader back and forthIt's at this point the loose .22 rounds start dropping into a slot, perfectly alignedStep 4) Tilt the loader up (reservoir end up, mag insertion end down) and insert a Ruger mag fully into the bottomThe .22 rounds will either completely fill the magazine instantly, or you might have to gently slide the magazine back out just a bit and then back in, as 3-4 rounds fall in each time. Either way it's super easy. Stupid easy actually. This is hands down the best accessory you could get for a day at the range. McFadden needs to make one of these for every .22 magazine model on the market, I'd buy one for anything else I own.

Good for a few hundred rounds...
[REVIEW NOW RAISED FROM THREE STARS TO FIVE -- READ MY "ADDENDUM" BELOW]After a few hundred rounds (200 at most), this loader gets so clogged with .22LR bullet wax that it becomes almost impossible to load a magazine. The cartridges then pretty much just stay in the loader after that, or dribble out begrudgingly into your mag every few seconds of wild shaking and tapping. The "secret" to getting this loader working properly again is to internally clean it out of ALL built-up bullet wax. However, after another 150 - 200 or so shots, you have to clean all the wax out again, and so on and so on.This would all be somewhat OK, except that before you even reach the 50 or so round point after the thorough cleaning, the loader has already started to get gummy and very sluggish, with much tapping, banging, and shaking required to still be usable in loading your mag. That is, as I said, until you reach the 150 round point, and then its cleaning time again.I found it a lot easier to simply load my Ruger MKIII mags with the slower but much more dependable HKS Caliber Long Rifle Magazine Speedloader, available here at Amazon. Much cheaper too.ADDENDUM:After trying everything in the book to get this loader to function smoothly, I finally hit on the "secret sauce" that makes this product work as advertised: I spray WD-40 lightly over all of the cartridges after each filling-up of the loader. (The instructions infer that this is not required for each and every fill-up, but it absolutely is in order to prevent gumming up of the loader. Now, the loader works like a charm; just don't forget to take along your can of WD-40!!)..

I'm trying to fine tune it to load the 10th round but I ...
Once I got the hang of it, this thing came in very handy. I'm trying to fine tune it to load the 10th round but I think it is well worth the money. I'd buy it again. I tried ammo with that sticky wax coating and the loader didn't like them at all. Not a big deal, my .22 hates them too. CCI ammo loads great.

Better than Scrapple and many TastyCakes!
Ruger Mark IV - flawless!!! This is the best thing to come out of Pennsylvania since Scrapple! It is hard to describe how well this works but here goes; fill the hopper, put in a mag, loaded. It is really that easy. There is a screw to adjust for mag length that sounds about 10x harder than it is to figure out in the reviews. I'll try to explain; if you need to adjust you turn the screw. That is it, don't overthink it. I have used with Federal White box bulk 22LR and it worked great, CCI, Aguilla, Winchester, etc. all worked fine. This is impressive and easy to use, designed and made in the USA. If you are still reading this you should buy it, you will not regret the purchase. (You may get in more rounds at the range and spend more on ammo but that is why you are shooting 22LR anyway, right?)

Must have if you enjoy shooting and not reloading
This thing is simply amazing! Drop a box of 50 rounds, shake gently side to side, let the rounds line up, put a clip in and round just drop in. Sometimes they all won't fall in right away, just rock it back and forth several times and your clip is loaded in few seconds. I find that with this loader I burn through ammo faster than any other gun because of quick reloading. There is an adjustment screw on the left side that you can adjust to load 11 rounds for modified capacity clips (easy mod you can find on youtube). The only drawback to this thing is size, it's a little bulky. I was able to fit halfway in to my fanny pack so it's around my waist for quick reach, but it's still sticking out. You might consider taking HKS-22 tiny loader when you are away from your main ammo box.

Works great but takes some fine tuning
I tried to load mags with this by just dumping ammo in and inserting the maggie...not too happy with the results. When I added lube it worked a bit better it was on the right track. Found that the ammo (Federal) had the dreaded wax on it. Used Remington and no wax issue; I could load ok but had to "pump" the maggie. It seemed that the forward lips in the mag didn't push the spring loaded ball bearing far enough to allow the rounds to flow into the mag. Spread the forward lips a little and the loader works like a champ. The other mag that came with my Ruger Mark III worked just fine out of the box. As the instructions state adding Rem Lube did the trick. The modified mag worked fine in the pistol so don't worry too much about MINOR mods to the mag. There is a post on YouTube by dano442 (I think) that does a great job explaining how to use this tool. One thing that is not in the instructions is the existence of the "level line" moulded into the loader. The video tells you about this. All in all this is a great tool if you take time and a little effort to get it adjusted correctly.
