Great replacement, just like original. Seal up good. Looks good.

The quality of the plastic lid is good. The plastic lid costs about one third of the price of the dish with a glass lid, which means they are charging a good margin for the replacement lid.

Slightly imperfect, but passable. My original Corningware French white casserole sets only came with bulky glass lids. A nuisance since I got the set in 2003. I only wish I'd ordered these plastic lids sooner. 5/2024 I got both round and oval lids for 1.5qt and 2.5qt dishes. They are a game changer. Still eagerly waiting for delivery of the 1.5 oval lids. I was thrilled that most of the plastic lids that arrived so far fit perfectly, except this 2.5qt round dish in photo's attached. Since I cant find any other option at this time, I thought I'd hang on to it for now because it's still a major improvement over the glass lids.The outer diameter of my 2.5qt dish is a little over 8-5/8"'s. I took a chance on the 9" hoping maybe it was an over estimate. The 2.5qt round plastic lid is slightly loose, but pretty close, and is sturdy enough that items can stack on top of it in my frig and cabinet. The seal could surely leak, as is, if not careful.For transport reasons, I thought of trying to improve the seal by placing bulk like a layer or 2 of plastic wrap, parchment or wax paper, and/or aluminum foil over top, then secure it with a large rubber band before placing the plastic lid over top. The lid is good enough, as is, for day to day frig storage, and no need to add the extra bulk step then. But just for transport purposes, I tried dry fitting it with plastic and a rubber band to see if the lid would stop moving and it seemed to stop the movement very well. Don't know if that makes it necessarily leak "proof". But my guess is that even the good fitting lids wont be more than leak "resistant". I've never known any of my plastic storage ware to be anything but leak "resistant" anyway. The big bonus is the ability to stack stuff. So that's fine with me.I'll also take the advise of others and keep it out of the microwave, and hand wash it only, preventing microwave and dishwasher heat from warping the plastic. That's easy.Until I can find a better fitting replacement for the $9.71 lid I bought, it will at least make it much easier to store than the old bulky glass lids that have been a storage nuisance the past 23 years.

This is a perfect replacement. As a brand specific replacement, it's much better than the non-brand replacements, which are close but never really the perfect fit. These last longer if you put them on the top rack of the dishwasher and MUCH longer if washed by hand.

I got this to match a set of corningware that didn't have a plastic lid (but the other dishes had matching lids). Great product!

I almost didn't order this lid because I read other reviews that said the lid did not fit on older French White casseroles. Mine is probably at least 30 years old. The lid fits exactly as the old one did, so I'm very happy with it.
