Information in this video is probably very helpful, but I have not been able to stay awake through it. Artists drawings are beautiful, but I just want to put down the ruler (left brain) and draw (right brain). This method does not work at all for me, but I am sure would be beneficial to many and certainly works for some.

Darrel Tank's 5-Pencil Method - How to Draw a Portrait is an amazing insight on drawing a realistic portrait from start to finish. I see it is now available here on amazon. If your an absolute beginner or a seasoned artist there is a lot to learn. From the "lay out" and ever step of the way Master Illustrator Darrel Tank explains what he is doing and why. This jewel of a DVD set is a treasure. There 3 DVD'S, First is the "lay out" second is the "shading" (that is where the Magic happens) & last is the finishing touches to the signature. It is not a quick sketch lesson it is an in depth course. Each DVD runs over 2 hours or so(give or take). So you get a lot of teaching for what you pay. It is real good for someone who loved to draw when they were a kid but never could draw people(like me). I treasure this DVD set and if you want to see something "come to life" from blank page to signed framed art... This is for you!!!
