Simple, sturdy, and effective.
Some assembly required - you have to put each spike in place and bolt them, and then you have to thread the straps through. But that's not a big deal. It would have helped to have an illustration of how to thread the straps, I had to experiment a bit to get it right. Once I figured out the straps, it's a solid design. This is not a flaw in the product, only in my own use of it, but I wanted to share this information to save others some pain: do NOT try to use this produce while wearing sandals. :) It worked, but the buckles scraped some skin off my ankles. You definitely should wear high-top shoes like in the illustration. Also, if you use them while mowing (which is the perfect time), debris (especially leaves) will get stuck in the spikes and start to reduce how effective they are. So you should stop occasionally to clean them. It only take a couple of seconds to scrap the leaves and wet grass off. With those things in mind (wear high-top shoes or boots, and clean the debris out of the spikes sometimes) they work great!

Good for shallow aerating
My Husbands Review: This was pretty easy to assemble...some of the nuts did slip a little while tightening, but there isn't really a need to over tighten, so a bit over zealous on my part. The straps are sufficiently long, actually a little too long for me, so they need to be tucked in while in use. I would Never, Never, walk on hard surfaces like concrete! They are certainly not made for that and would not be stable - either structurally or traction wise. I put a chair next to or on the lawn and then strapped in. I had areas where the grass was not growing and it was damp, so there was some mud build-up on the bottom, but easily tapped out with the stick / pole I was using to stabilize myself while in use. Btw - it is easier to walk in these when using a walking stick or something similar. Also, I do have rocks just below the surface in certain areas, so working carefully around the rocks I hit worked well enough - vs trying to force the spikes down. The product doesn't seem to be made for forceful stomping in areas where it might hit a rock Seems like a couple things could happen... 1) it could cause an injury or fall or 2) it might break the product. They wash up and store very easily. They worked really well for our needs. We didn't need deep aeration, so If you're looking for deep aeration, these only go in about 2" at the most.

Aerate at your own risk!
Super cool item that arrived as perfect as it appears in the photo. Sadly, no instructions were included and one spike was a flathead. It was a helluva workout trying to keep it securely latched because the fabric slips and there isn’t a harness to keep both straps from loosening from the tension created when pulling it out of the ground. The extra strap has to be tucked and slightly slows the entire loosening process. To avoid falling, be sure to use a pole for support

Not a happy camper
I have been wanting years to aerator this awful lawn I’ve been blessed with, but it's very costly and what people use to pay back in the days is absolute with these lawn people prices and contract they want you to sign. The straps on these shoes left me frustrated as I spent 3 hours trying to adjust them to my feet that is so small for a lady. When I had thought I had it just right I'd walked a few steps and fell over injuring my back. Not only was the spike sharp which was easy to assemble, but it punched a hole in my brand-new hose when I fell over ( who's going to replace that I wonder?). It was my thought that this process putting it together according to the many reviews would be a breeze, but my tiny feet kept slipping and it just didn't work for me. After 3 hours with frustration, back pain and a puncher hose I threw them in the garage next to the wall. To be honest any elastic band would have been better to hold these shoes in place. Waiting to hear back from seller who probably does care what I think at this point.

Easy to assemble and worked great. Did not slip off easily.
Took about 10 minutes to assemble it. Make sure you use the correct length strap for the correct position. The one closes to your ankle should be the longest strap and each one thereafter is the smaller and then smallest strap. Fit my shoes size 11 easily. Was able to aerate my sizable front yard in about 30 minutes. I could have easily done it while mowing. Keep the straps tight and you are good to go. You may occasionally need to re-tighten them, but it only takes 2 seconds to pull the straps tight. Take care not to step on any sprinkler heads if you have a sprinkler system installed. I didn't experience any trouble of dirt or grass sticking the bottoms of them at all. Would definitely purchase another pair in the future if needed.

Not Quite As Advertised
These aerator shoe attachments are not quite what is advertised in the product listing. I found that I was only supplied with four of the six advertised straps mentioned in the description (which they proudly advertise as to why their shoes are superior). You can immediately tell this is needed as the spikes are long and dig deep into the soil and need a good pull to get out on the up-step. This leads to the second shortcoming. The straps are not at all what is shown in the listing. The buckles used in the photos and description are the spring-loaded tabs with teeth. The supplied buckles are cheaper strap loop-over kinds. This wouldn't be so bad, but they do not hold the strap at all. I don't think I got more than five steps along before everything started to let go. I really want to like these. Instead of returning, I may try to get extra, better tie-down straps (like in the advertised pictures) to improve these as they should have come. Hopefully this will have better results.

Lo que no me gusto fue que cada paso que doy, se viene toda la tierra al calzado y ya no es eficiente para las siguientes pisadas. Se tiene que estar removiendo a cada paso la tierra adherida

Once fully assembled and you figure out which straps go where (& why) you are ready to start. Tuck the excess strapping under the tightened straps so you do not step on with the other foot. The steps you take are feet close together and by lifting one foot and stepping down just in front of your last step with that foot. Repeat other foot. Tedious but effective. Be careful on hills. Walk up and down instead of across to avoid turning your ankles - you stand vertical but you feet will angle with the slope and the spikes secure them in the ground making it quite awkward. A lot of short steps but we are satisfied with the results

La imagen muestra 3 correas y solo me llegaron 2. Al ponérmelos y caminar un poco se salen de la bota. Supongo hace falta la tercera correa para evitar que se salgan.

As long as you take the time to set the stop up correctly, you won't have any problems. Used these to aerate my lawn.
