Works as good or better as medical units but at a savings of $700
I have purchased a lighter duty unit - NEENCA Professional Knee Brace - first https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R62C645. It was providing some good protection for light walking. It was helping me. I then went to the orthopedic doctor for my bad knee which had prior torn ligaments. He recommended a better brace for heavier use - rough surface hiking and sports. They showed me the unit they were going to get for me. Since I looked for the current brace, I knew Amazon had braces that would work just as good as the $750 unit they recommended. (I had other braces years ago which were very uncomfortable.) There are different versions and sizes that I had to deal with. My wife said at these prices, for $50 I could take the chance trying out difference styles and sizes. After much reading of reviews, I determined this is would probably work fine. I liked the one with interchangeable hinge, but I have one lighter duty unit already. This seem reasonably compact, has knee cap protection and seem like it would be comfortable since the fabric stretches rather than fold below the strap. My analysis turned out to be correct. I now can perform exercises like elliptical with good support and it was comfortable, more than the bulky older braces I had in the past. There are a few things you have to be aware: this is elastic and will be tight against you leg, when you sweat in it, it will be somewhat difficult to remove. It is suggested to be only worn for a couple of hours, you should not wear it all day, especially to sleep. I wear the other lighter unit all day when I go to work, I would not wear this one. Finally, these are wear item, even the $750 medical version. How long it lasts, depends on how much you use it. For the savings, I rather have this and other lighter versions rather than the expensive medical unit I wouldn't wear often like the two combination I have bought. BTW, my knees are getting better with my combination.

Works well. I am on my second one for pickleball.

Pretty great. Wish the back was open
Allow it to stretch as mine was very tight initially. Consider going up a size. Its nice, comfortable, stable, and generally a good product. It is small enough to pack easily and fits under pants. My only complaint is the closed design at the back of the knee. That makes log term wear or high intensity activities uncomfortable after a time due to chafing in the bend of the knee.

Great Brace!
Great brace but size runs small.

Worth every penny!
Amazing quality, only sad that I need this level of support as I recently blew out my left knee. Also, because I have freakishly large knees, (apparently), McDavid's 2X-L being in stock was a god send. Ordered on Friday, it was in my hands by noon on Saturday...that's what I call service. The construction is at the bionic level and it made a significant difference in reducing the level of pain while walking. Thanks! Update 6/22/17 I've since learned that the velcro closure straps are perfect, they lock in every time, never loosen and I've never given this detail a thought. The reason I'm adding this comment is that some friends have other manufacturers braces of similar design and the Velcro is a real problem. The things we don't have a problem with are easy to overlook in product reviews. I tend to think items should perform as expected and when they do I forget to post the fact that what I bought is what was delivered. HA Thanks for making a fantastic product! W

If you like pull-up knee braces, this might work for you. Otherwise, try the Bracoo Breathable Neoprene Knee Support.
I sent this back. It is a pull-up knee brace, which I was aware of when I purchased it. I figured the velcro straps would help hold the entire thing in place enough to use it while running. The straps did tighten nicely but it wasn't enough to hold it up during my running. The knee cap hole was nice and tight to keep my patella from moving, but it was a little small. Didn't feel the hinges really added any form of extra support. Sent it back for a refund.

(Pic included is from McDavid's website and is their official size chart because there isn't one shown on this Amazon listing) Ok, so after giving this brace a legit fair try, here's what I've come to... One, these are my measurements: Thigh (6" above center of knee): 22 to 22.5" Knee (circumference at center of knee): 17.5" Calf (6" below center of knee): 19" According to McDavid's size chart (see pic), I should get an XXL, so I did. The brace arrived quickly but was VERY tight. It arrived during a snow storm and freezing temps and I could feel that it was frozen cold and extremely stiff. As I guessed, after a day or two in the warm house it loosened up and became slightly less tight. It was still *just* on the side of acceptable tightness but barely. I debated returning it but decided to give it a change since it was just bearable. I continued to wear it for 20 to 30 min periods around the house and short walks (appox 10 to 15 minutes) outside, which included walking on uneven mounds of snow. It continued to feel looser and became more tolerable. I eventually decided I would keep it and that maybe if I cut the elastic straps behind it, it would feel even better. So I did that but honestly can't tell the difference. No harm no foul. It's finally reached a point where it's no longer loosening up and genuinely feels good. My knee is given firm enough support but not so much that any blood is cut off or that it's perpetually uncomfortable. It's right around that point where it's not comfortable for me to forget I'm wearing it while walking, but enough distractions/conversations/etc may just make me forget about it. Perhaps the worst downside is taking it off after wearing it for even short amounts of time. The material inside WILL make you sweat under it which in turn makes it stick to your leg. Taking it off can be a serious headache and for anyone with limited movement of their arms and/or torso (ie bending forward) this could become a serious issue. If you can't reach the brace to take it off (you'll need to almost peel part of it down and then wiggle it where possible) I genuinely would not recommend it. If your mobility is good enough to reach it and move it around, then I would say it's almost certainly true to size and get the one that matches you measurements. It will most likely be a good fit, especially if it feels tight at first as it *will* loosen up some. At the very worst, you may be able to go up 1 size if you're right on the margins but keep in mind I have no idea just how much bigger each size up is. It could be too loose which is why I suggest the size you match for, even if you're at the upper limits. All in all it's a good brace, well made for most part with the biggest thing it could use are some small hoop straps to pull it up/pull it off. As it is I have to grasp the center "knee hole" to adjust it. It's tight enough to actually support my knee but not too tight that it's uncomfortable, though it took a couple days of breaking in. The sweat and inner material is a *BIG* issue and I would definitely do not get this brace if you're unable to easily reach it at all times.

Very fast delivery from US to Singapore. Product is definitely more rigid compared to knee guards, gives good protection while wearing. It is a bit tight though although my sizing falls in the middle of M.

I purchased this as my right knee would begin to hurt after 4 km of walking. Now I have comfortably done hikes up to 22 kms. without knee pain. I have used this brace for over a year now and it has held up very well with no obvious wear. I highly recommend it!

* provides support while walking only. * No support while climbing stairs, hinges not doing their job, poor design :( * Not skin friendly, within 30 minutes sweating in full contact skin. * Price also on higher side. * Received delivery on 7th day.
