Russian Chicory Instant Powder Natural 3.5 oz (100g)

I love Russian instant chicory powder! Hubby is a coffee addict and makes a large batch of coffee every morning, but I have some gastrointestinal issues and am not supposed to drink straight black coffee... So what I do is this: pour 1/3 - 1/2 cup of hubby's coffee into a cup, add the creamer of my choice (which is Aroy-D coconut milk that comes in 8.5 oz cartons - look it up here on Amazon, it's awesome!), add 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of chicory powder, and fill the rest of the cup with hot water. Stir it up and enjoy! Tastes like high grade restaurant coffee! No taste is compromised at all, on the contrary, the chicory enriches the flavor. So you have twice the flavor with half the caffeine. Of course, you can always use just the chicory alone, if you need to go absolutely caffeine-free.I also wanted to include a little explanation about the expiration date... If you look at the package you may think that it expired, but this is not so. In Russia they often state not the 'Expiration Date' on food products, but rather 'Date of Manufacture & Packaging', and then give you the 'Storage Life' or 'Shelf Life' period. As we see in this case as well - the package time stamp says "Manufactured and packaged on 01 2019", and then above it says, "Storage life - 24 months". There is also a white sticker right on top of that (it's upside-down), added by the Amazon seller, I assume, that says "Exp. 07/2020". But actually the expiration date is January 2021. So consume with confidence!P.S. I enjoy the bitter taste first thing in the morning as a "wake up " substitute for coffee with caffeine. Before bed I add a little half n half for a soothing quiet moment before bed. I don't know that it has any properties that enhance sleep but it is relaxing before bed.

Great taste and low calories. I think seller needs to adjust a description of the product. The calories shown on the packaging it’s for the whole package, so it’s like 30-40 calories per cup

First time trying this chicory powder beverage, it was described as a coffee alternative and as I'm not big on coffee I want to try it for myself.I only used 1/2 tsp as light introduction. It's taste is like caramel and something else - can't quite describe it but it is familiar.Overall, this is good.

The product is tasty, came fast

I love the way this stuff tastes. This chicory is smooth and a hint bitter... like a perfect cup of coffee. No strange smell like some chicory has. I do wish I could read the label. The most disappointing aspect of this chicory is the size of the bag, I was surprised how little you get for the price.

I wasn't able to buy this on Amazon because this product doesn't ship to my address so I purchased it locally. It's flavorful, with a light aroma, and probably the best chicory I've ever used. It's great on its own but I also like to add a heaping teaspoon to the filter basket when brewing coffee.

If you cannot have gluten, then you cannot have barley, this instant chicory is good because there is no barley in it.
