No, they are not clear. The saucers are a matte grey on the top side, and gloss black on the bottom side. Made of melamine.FYI, the espresso cups and saucers are cheaper if ordered from Nespresso web site. Also, the coffee capsules are cheaper if ordered from Nespresso as well. They all are more expensive if ordered from Amazon.
