Excellent Scissors
Well made and slightly different design from product photos ... the pivot on my set seems to have been improved and appears much beefier and stronger. The scissors cut cleanly all the way to the tip. Very happy with this set. The small snips were disappointing at first as they only appear to cut at the last 1 cm from the tip, but after some experimentation I discovered that this may just be part of the design and you can actually get them to cut all the way to the tip by simply adjusting your grip and squeezing the two parts to push them together as your cut. This isn't hard to do at all and ensures you always get a good clean cut. So ignore those that complain about the snips not cutting properly as it seems to be a matter of mastering the correct technique, rather than a problem with the snips themselves. The pivot on the snips is also improved just like those on the scissors and looks like it should last a long time without any adjustment being needed. These are a great pair of items and I am very happy with them.

Lovely sharp scissors.
Good solid dressmaking scissors. Comfortable to hold and are sharp right down to the tip. I had the snips included and these are really good. best I have had. Very good value for money.

Two bundled items: two reviews
I worked as a tailor in a manufacturing site for some time, so am familiar with scissors, clippers (aka snips) and have seen the good and the bad....The dressmaker scissors are fantastic. They are a good, balanced weight, stainless steel throughout and the blades even tempered so they glide smoothly past each other end to end. They will cut along the entire length of the blade. The handles are comfortable for my hand, each proportionate to the finger(s) they are meant for, and this is important because the last thing I want is for my fingers to slip when I am cutting expensive fabric or cutting a particularly awkward portion of a pattern. They are so sharp, they should have a warning. I immediately cut my thumb, uncharacteristic to do so, but the razor sharp blades are a testimony that they will perform very well; just make sure your target is of the fabric variety. I recommend these scissors. They are so well made that I would consider giving them as a gift. * Husbands with Christmas lists, take note..The snippers were a bonus included in the package. They have several problems. When I first snipped them together they flew apart. First, a spring or ball bearing seems to be missing from between the blades below the screw. This causes the blades separate and the whole snipper hangs by the screw join. Another issue with these snippers is that the the pointed tip of the lower blade is slightly curved toward the other blade causing the blades 'over bite' when squeezed together, with the tips bypassing each other. This also causes a wide gap along the length of the snipper, so the blades don't meet at any point except the very tip. In fact, there is a noticeable gap between the blades from the handle end of the snipper to the tips; this should not be there, there should be no gap at all along the entire length. I had to buy professional snippers at my previous worksite (and pay for them). They had blades that met the entire length of the snipper with no gap at all; on the business end this made it possible to snip threads without having to be fussy about which millimeter of the blade was doing the business. I have to say that the material, the weight and balance of these snippers are spot on, and the useful plastic protective sleeve for the end is a nice addition. But for functionality, they fail, and for that reason I won't be able to use them, so I am rather disappointed. That said, the main star of the attraction, I am very pleased with.

Light and very sharp!
Finally! A decent pair of shears. I am always changing furnishing and trying to cut curtains and other stuff is so difficult without proper shears, so I ordered these. I've just used them and can honestly say I wish I'd bought some before now instead of struggling with kitchen scissors. These are very similar to the ones I used to use at work. They are not heavy and cut beautifully :) Thank you.
