Menage short story prequel for the Bridgewater Menage series
This short story is the prequel to the rest of the Bridgewater Menage series. It is a standalone story. On a ship bound for New York are six soldiers, done with their service in and near Egypt. Two are Americans and four Europeans. All have one thing in common, when they take a wife, she will be shared by both husbands.Ann is the rich daughter of an American businessman. He has promised his daughter to a businessman in the railroad industry to cement profitable gains for them both. Ann dislikes her father's choice and refuses. He tells her they will wed on the ship that night. She runs, right into the protective arms of Robert and Andrew, the two American soldiers. They devise a plan to save her from both her father and her suitor, but it means becoming the wife of two men she has known for mere minutes. This story would have benefited from more substance in plot development. It all seemed bit ridiculous in the timetables given.

THEIR RUNAWAY BRIDE: The Bridgewater Menage Series Prequel (A Short Story)
Rating: 3.5 StarsTHEIR RUNAWAY BRIDE was a short and sexy introduction into the "Bridgewater" series. I had no illusions going into this tale that I would it would be a deep or heavy read, but I was looking for something different and this definitely fit that bill. I'm not typically a fan of "menage" romances either, mainly because I generally love one of the men more than the other(s). I'm also the jealous sort so I have a really hard time with the concept of sharing...However, this was a fun little story that I enjoyed for the most part, even if I had to suspend belief more often than not. And although I usually love an alpha male, I'm not a fan of the whole spanking (or threat of it) outside of the bedroom that this author seems to like to incorporate into her books. So while I found Robert and Andrew and their dominant ways okay, Ann on the other hand I really liked. She just felt much more real to me and genuine in her thoughts and feelings. And though she readily submits to these men, their entire relationship occurs within two days and she never admits to loving them although I'm sure given time she will.In the end I just felt like Ann was stuck between a rock and a hard place and I'm honestly not sure given a better option if she'd have actually chosen the life she did. And even if the language did feel a bit modern if you take it for what it is - a lusty little erotic romance - it was an entertaining enough read. The two men for the next installment in the series are introduced here too, and I'll probably read their story sometime soon and see how it goes.Kindle Locations: The story itself ended at 80% and location 759 of 950.

2 stars - it was ok
I had high hopes for Their Runaway Bride because I loved the concept of the book and the series but the writing just didn't live up to it. This is just a novella so there's not a lot of background on the characters, which is to be expected for a shorter read. However, the dialogue between Ann, Robert, and Andrew was so unnatural and weird to read. The way they interact and talk to each other just didn't work and really distracted me from the story. Especially as the guys began instructing Ann in the bedroom, it was all so odd sounding.

Woman Found Hope in Two Strong Men
While fleeing from an unwanted marriage, Anne encounters two military officers returning home from overseas service. These are the men she had been attracted to earlier in the voyage, & they offer her a marriage as well; one with much more appeal than the other marriage her father had planned. Find out what she encounters with the choice she makes, & what her fatherβs reaction is when told of her actions. This is the first book of a delightful series, full of love, danger, & a great deal of physical joy between a woman & the 2 men who recognized the 1 woman who was made to hold their hearts secure.

Ann and her two protectors, Robert and Andrew...
I gave this book 5 cups of steaming java. Well written from beginning to end, gave enough sufficient details of the characters and their attractions were strong from a distance until she runs into the men's room and gains protection from them by marriage to escape from an arranged marriage through her father's business. There are hints of other men lime Robert and Andrew for the next few books, I can only imagine the book series to be of good stories with strong attractions between characters. Only thing I wish is that there were little more to the ending of this story with Ann and her husbands, especially after her first taste of having a device to train her in preparation for both her husbands.

Last for me
I've tried two of this author's books now, Books 1 and 2 in this series, and both of them read like pornography instead of romance. Yes, they have an HEA, but that's about the only thing that would point to it being a romance.I've been reading erotica since I was old enough to buy it, so this book's lack of appeal doesn't have anything to do with the steamy sex. It has more to do with steamy sex with very little backstory.I will not be finishing this series.

Outrageous but Fun
THEIR RUNAWAY BRIDE (Bridgewater Mènage Series Book 1)Vanessa ValeAnn refuses to marry that Mr. Atherton! When her father is insistent that she be married right after dinner, she dashes down to the boat's second class and into the cabin where Robert is bathing. He stands up and she can scarcely look away. Andrew had agreed with Robert that she was The One for them, but hardly thought it would be so quickly agreed upon. The captain is summoned and they are wed. Now it is time for the consummation. She finds them delightful! Outrageous but fun.

Running for love
I love how 2 men can show 1 woman the love, she so desperately craves. One thing that Ann, didn't crave, was the attention that her father promises to offer, after reaching a business deal with someone she does not like. Robert and Andrew are the perfect distraction, then husband material, for Ann.Now, to read the next story. Their Kidnapped Bride, about Kane, Ian and their search for a bride

Pure lust and nothing more
Suspend all reality as you read this short novella. The setting is on board ship sailing into New York. Ann's father is giving her until after dinner on board and then she is to marry as part of a lucrative business deal, a man she loathes.Leaving first class she descends to second class and rushed into a cabin to hide. There she confronts a naked man and before she knows it, another man in uniform enters through the connecting door.Robert and Andrew are U.S. Soldiers returning from overseas duty. They (with like minded men in board ship) believe that two men should share one woman to protect and care for. They had noticed Ann previously and were determined to woo her. Fate lends a hand and soon she is married to Andrew by the ship's captain. Then the fun begins. There is obviously no real story here as they never leave the cabin and all emphasis is on the acts performed between them. It is what it is...pure lust and nothing more.
