Best Crappie rod on the market in my opinion.
For the price, this is a fantastic rod for crappie and pan fish. It is light and "flippy" with sufficient backbone to pull crappie out of the brush piles they like to live in. It is an old school fiberglass rod with stainless eyes so it is relatively maintenance free and you don't have the ceramic eye inserts that tend to come loose on inexpensive rods. It even has a ruler printed on the shaft right above the handle to measure your catch. Don't let the price fool you into thinking this is a lower end rod. No, it is not a high modulus graphite rod. It is, however light and sensitive. Pair this with some high-vis mono on a light spinning reel and you won't miss a fish. With the fast tip, you can set the hook and not worry about ripping it out of the fish's mouth and there is sufficient backbone to pull it into the boat with ease. If you're in the market for a crappie rod, get this one.

My favorite panfish rod!!
I purchased two of the 7'6" rods. My fishing buddy has two of the other version of this rod and prefers my newer ones because of the handle. He had to tape is handles up with electrical tape. I don't care if it's not "as pictured" because I like what I received. You can cast these a country mile and they are very sensitive. I love them so much that I'm going to buy two more. All of these negative reviews are silly. You're really missing out on an amazing rod!

I would highly recommend this rod for Crappie
Please note that Amazon's picture of the handle is not correct, the handle will be similar to that of the 6' or 6'-6" ultra lite also what is not noted in Amazon's information is that this rod comes as a Med light. I would highly recommend this rod for Crappie,Trout, and Pan fish of various types. It seems to have an almost ultra lite sensitivity which allows one to cast a 1/16 th oz. jig, which is what the rod is rated for, and yet to have the backbone to handle larger fish. The rod is a 5 STAR all the way, The listing with the inaccuracies and lack of needed info is a 2 star, such as what the action is.Another nice feature, is the rod has a measuring stick up to 18 inches painted discreetly on the top of the rod. I wish I had found this rod earlier I would have bought 3 more instead of some other.I got time to spend fishing with this rod, here's what I found:It takes 6 or 8 casts to get the feel of the rod, so don't be turned off immediately to it.If you think a little like a fly rod and do a SLIGHT backcast maybe 1' to 18" and then cast forward, be prepared to stop your line, because the lure is going to the next zip code, honestly. If anyone wants 3 or 4 rods (which cost twice the price of this Eagleclaw), I would love to sell them, so I could replace them with more of these rods.
