Great traction for safety on the ICE!
Saved us when the ICE storm rolled through TN two weeks ago... literally ordered them a couple days before and they arrived the Friday before the storm! So thankful!!! My husband had slipped on the deck stairs as it LOOKED like water/rain NOT ICE but it was ICE! Just 3 steps but he went down. Thankfully not hurt. These arrived for both of us and he was saying WOW...these are GREAT!!! My Nephew in VA had told me about these and I forgot to order them...literally popped back into my mind of things to do, like 2 days before the storm and i was grateful they arrived the day before it hit us! We could NOT walk outside our house it was so icy EVERYWHERE...front walkway, outside garage doors, outside both back doors... crazy! OK... specs: we ordered according our shoe size. I wear an 8 got the size in the chart that would best fit. Right out of the box, they are easy to figure out...toe in first, then heel and I even walked gently on our real wood floors without any issues, no marks, nothing. I wore these when we went out to dinner and on areas without any ice/snow and it didn't hurt them. They are light weight and easy to put on and take off. Ease of walking is great along with traction and gripping ice well. Didn't seem to show any signs of rust when left to dry. There's instructions stating that if they tend to come loose, to just pinch the connecting points together on the bottom. I haven't noticed any issues so far. Now that are made of some type of rubber, so will they rot and fall apart eventually...possibly but for the price, you can't beat these. I chose these because of what my Nephew had said...although there are other versions or types/brands out there, like ones with circular spikes. Those would probably suit the purpose too but i like that these aren't sharp. HIghly suggest this product! Here's a pic and video of how easy they are to put on and still fit really tight. I never had an issue with them coming off. Here, this video shows me putting one on with one hand!

Love, buying a second pair cuz my husband stole mine!
These are FANTASTIC!! I purchased them for icy walks with my newborn because I wasn’t feeling confident on our hill near our home, gets slick, and with these it’s NO PROBLEM! Honestly, if they weren’t slippery on wood/tile floors I doubt I’d take them off my boots! Anyway I’m buying a second pair because it’s like an ice rink outside and my husband took them to take our dog for a long walk in the woods and he now ADORES them too! I said ‘keep em, I’ll buy another pair for myself.’ Huge game changer for walks in icy/snowy conditions! The sizing (see chart) was EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED, I haven’t had them long enough to say how the rust resistance might be but I didn’t clean them after our walks and no issues yet! They are crazy durable and stretchy but yet VERY secure to your shoes. I just love their versatility and wonderful function. PERFECTION! Thank you!!

Super happy with this purchase!
I purchased a set of these as I am an avid walker. After having surgery on a broken patella (kneecap) and living in the Midwest I wanted to be sure to minimize and slips/falls in the winter. These are fantastic. We tend to get heavy snowfalls in Wisconsin and I don't let that keep me from taking my two pups for a walk every morning. This morning was 8 degrees the roads and sidewalks were icy, I feel very confident walking with these on. They are easy to get on and off. Before these I had the spike type and with those found keeping them in the house rather than the cold garage made them easier to get on (rubber warm and more pliable), so this is what I do with these. One thing, this morning I noticed one of the coils was coming off, so I simply twisted it back into place and I was good to go, so no concerns thus far. I walk every day about 45min-hour and have been using these for about three weeks. I would recommend these, so much I purchased another set for a backup.

Works great.. as long as it stays on
I want to start this by saying the yaktrax themselves work PERFECTLY. No slipping on ice, I can walk with full confidence. Five stars for functionality. The problem is that today, at some point on the 15 minute walk from the train station to my workplace after it snowed ten inches yesterday and the plows had piled it all up in the crosswalks, the left one vanished. I didn't realize it until I arrived at work so it's gone forever - I retraced my steps after work hoping I might find it but no dice in all the snow. Extra frustrating because the whole reason I wore them is because while there was some morning ice, I knew the ice would be way worse tonight after the sun shone on half shoveled sidewalks for a few hours, so my trip home was more perilous. I'm always VERY sure to pull them on securely before leaving the house with them on, so either it was yanked off my foot when I pulled it up through the snow or it broke and came off. Either way that is a product defect, it should not be able to come off like that if put on properly and it definitely should not be breaking. I bought these last February and have only needed them a small number of times since then, they absolutely should not be stretched out or falling apart. The one on my right foot that I still have looks totally fine, no visible wear or looseness, so who knows. Even though it seems fine, I'm needing to buy a new pair since I don't think it's possible to buy just one, and I am feeling mistrustful of the remaining one. They work so well that I'm getting a replacement pair but I'm gonna be pretty upset if the same thing happens again!

Great product for winter trail runners
Awesome product! Ill like to run outside and on trails but it can be tough in the northeast with snow. Too these guys out twice for an 8 mile run on carriage trails with about four inches of snow. First outing the snow was fresh with some cross country ski tracks and the second was on that same base but compacted from foot traffic with some ice mixed in. In both outings they performed flawlessly - excellent traction! Easy on, eaasy off. I love this product.

Safe in snow and ice!
Yak trax are absolutely wonderful. Easy to put on and I feel young again. At my age one of my biggest concerns is falling! I feel safe and confident walking through the terrible ice storm which came through the south! I have a steep driveway which always has ice longer than my neighbors but with these new tools I could go out and chop it up! Thanks Yak Trax!

Hard fail first time out. OK for light duty use, not so much for more demanding use...
First time out, hard fail. A GPS measured 1.51 mile walk on hard pack snow and ice. Moderate gait and according to my GPS, 2.57mph average. Most on city sidewalks and streets aside from perhaps ~200 yards on snow/ice on grass. I weigh 170lbs, feet pointed consistently forward when walking. No foot dragging or duck walking. They performed very well, especially on Ice. Great traction. Confidence inspiring. I purchased size Large for size 12 shoes. Snug, secure and comfortable fit. Putting them on was easy and they are comfortable to walk on. Maybe stating the obvious, these have a front and rear. Some might miss this and put them on backwards. Yes, most of us have a friend or family member in mind when mentioning this. After getting home and taking them off, I noticed that the heel straps on BOTH left and right shoes had slipped and moved to one side. The side straps kept them from detaching completely. No indication that they'd slipped until I got home and looked at them. See attached video. I tend to walk somewhat aggressively and when turning, often pivot harder on the ball of my foot than others do. This may account for the slippage. Because of this, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to the manufacturer, speculate that those that are lighter on their feet and more deliberate when walking may not experience what I did. Perhaps if I'd bought one of the YakTrax models with a cross strap over the top of the foot, the cross strap might have prevented this. If you're a 'hard' walker, something to consider. They'll work better with some shoes, not as well with others. The Vasque Juxt in the video has a somewhat tall and vertical heel which didn't allow the rear strap to grab as well as they would have with shoes that have shorter and rounder heels. This may be root cause for the slippage. I guess. Because the ease of installation and removal is good and the traction confidence inspiring, I'm going to keep these for things like parking lots, maybe light snow shoveling on a driveway, walking out to get the mail, etc. For more demanding use, I'm going to try again with another YakTrax model, one with a cross strap. Enough good reviews inside and outside of Amazon to try again.

These are a life changer after having a stroke
Not having good balance after my stroke these have have been a blessing to me. They provide great traction on ice and snow as I can not fall and hit my head, it wouldn't be good. the design appears to be great and will last a long time. They are easier for me to put on before I put my boots on as I'm not as flexible as I once was. Sizing is correct.
