May Be Enough for Some Cats to Correct Behavior Issues
I started giving this to my 5 year old neutered male cat after he started to have "tantrums" over simple things like shooing him off bed and hissing at my feet when wearing certain shoes. In general, anything that seemed to not be his idea or made him nervous. I also had been using Feliway diffusers also in the home. I saw some improvement at one 75mg a day on dry food but still having some "tantrums". I started giving 75mg twice a day with his dry food and the "tantrums" are rare since he has taken it twice a day for about 2 weeks now. We still use Feliway diffusers in conjunction with Zylkene. Before going to twice a day, I was considering starting him on fluoxetine as I have used it on patients of mine in veterinary practice but this is much easier as he readily eats it sprinkled on his dry food. This along with Feliway may be a good first try for treating anxiety and problem behavior in cats before going to fluoxetine and the problems of getting the cat to take fluoxetine.

Decided to revisit this and try it out again
Update 2 months:This is absolutely necessary to keep the peace in my household. I have started to give her slightly more than 75mg, because it wasn’t working as well after a while but giving her 1 pill plus a little sprinkle from the second pill works great. She is just over the weight suggested for the 75mg.I tried to give it every other day but it just was not working as well as every day. We still smoosh it into a few pill pockets and make like a dough and then I pinch off treat size pieces and she loves it! She cries for it every morning and that is what she wants for breakfast lol. She’s now refusing wet food because this is what she wants.Update 7 days after initial review:I have been giving 1/2 of a 75mg capsule twice a day to my cat for 7 days straight now and she has not attacked my other cat in 7 days! We usually have stalking and attacking constantly so to go from constantly to none is very impressive! What I really like is that she still has her personality and does not seem drugged in any way. She just isn’t a psychopath stalker anymore 🤷🏻♀️. I plan on continuing the regimen and giving 1/2 to her twice a day. I started by sprinkling half a capsule on her wet food but she doesn’t eat all of it (she doesn’t mind the powder at all) so instead I have been buying pill pockets and I just knead it into the pill pocket like a dough and she eats it right up. This way she gets the full dose and I’m not wasting any.Initial review:My vet recommended that I try this before we put my cat on Prozac.I have two cats. My cats are not litter mates, they are both 6 years old and I adopted them one year apart. Pandora was the second cat I adopted and she has turned out to be a little psychopath. She constantly bullies and stalks and chases and attacks my other cat. It drives me insane and at times it’s extremely draining. I have tried very good quality lab tested CBD, and every kind of feliway spray and diffuser there is. Nothing works.I purchased this about 8 months ago and the first time I gave it to her she full on attacked my foot (not playing, it was very aggressive) and she has never done that before. So I have not given it to her again.Out of desperation, I am revisiting this option, after reading more about how to administer, I think she probably just needs more time to adjust.I sprinkled half of one capsule on top of about a tablespoon of wet food. She ate almost all of it right away.I purchased some pill pockets and I think I can smush the powder into them and feed it to her that way to ensure she gets as much of the product as possible without wasting any.She goes crazy for pill pockets! I’ll gladly update this review once we finish the bottle.Tonight was the first night we started it again and she walked around the house looking for something to get into for about 30 minutes (typical) and then laid down and went to sleep.

It works!
Our cat is one we recieved as she needed a new home. She has been terrified of nearly everything for the past two years. We tried everything we could think of. Finally we decided to try Zyklene. Within a few days she was a different cat. She still has some fears but will go outside and even greets visitors where she used to cower under the bed. It may not work that fast or for every cat but we really appreciate what it has done for Sniffy.A plus- she really likes the taste! I open a capsule and sprinkle on her breakfast. She dives right in!

This works for my anxious, grieving kitty!
This works for my anxious 11 year old cat. He was deeply depressed after his cat buddy died. Getting him new kitten buddies has helped but a zylkene capsule in his food at bedtime helps him get frisky and be happier around the new kitties. No side effects and you can use it indefinitely.

Decent product but the constant price increases force me to look for alternatives
I have a small terrier with allergies and anxiety. For her to be happy, I have to manage both. This product does a good job of relaxing her, though it is not the only thing I use. I do notice when I stop using it she is antsier, so I have chosen to continue the product. But the price continues to increase from expensive to untenable. I looked around for alternatives. The active ingredient is called Alpha-Casozepine, according to the label. So, in looking for products with this, it turns out that Lactium is a trademarked version of this. It was difficult to find a product with this alone. Ultimately, I found a Swanson Antistress human product that contained only this as an active ingredient. There are other products that have this ingredient along with other things that I didn't want. I'll see how this new product works once I receive it.Interestingly, Calmkeen, a product that markets itself as similar, has hydrolyzed milk protein as the active ingredient, but it does does not have the actual Alpha-Casozepine. I bought it to alternate with Zylkene, but it simply does not work as well for my dog. And the price, which is significantly cheaper than Zylkene, has continued to rise likely because Zylkene's has. Anyway, if money is no option, then Zylkene is an effective product. If you don't want to continue to pay chronic price increases, you may need to look for an alternative.

Effective for mild anxiety, not so much for moderate/severe anxiety
I've been pretty happy with Zylkene! I ordered it for two of my anxious senior dogs. It did not work for one of them, but his issues seem to run deeper and he's required something a bit stronger from the vet. For my chihuahua, though, she would tumble every time we ran the dryer before we started her on Zylkene. Since it's a capsule, I just open it and sprinkle it on her food each morning, and it takes the edge off enough that she no longer has issues when we run the dryer.
